So her 29 year Oscar drought is finally over, I'm kinda shocked but I'm glad she won if Viola Davis didn't.

It was a bullshit win, but if it means that Meryl doesn't get nominated every time she sneezes on camera, I'll deal with it. It sucks because Davis will likely never get another shot at Oscar and Meryl has 3.

I agree. It's unlikely we'll see Davis nominated again. While Meryl, very talented & beloved by me, will probably get nominated again.

I think Davis will be nominated again although I don't know if she'll be as close to winning like she was this time.

Considering how few roles there are for women of color, I'd be shocked if Davis got another shot at an Oscar.

I think Whoopi Goldberg was the only black woman to be nominated twice. Very, very few actors of any race get nommed more than once. Viola's odds aren't good.
