Meryl in an Oscar de la Renta gown and Cartier jewels at the SAG awards. She didn't walk the red carpet but this is one of the better looks she's had in a while so I figured I'd include it.

I was sort of shocked to see Meryl in something strapless. I don't think I've *ever* seen her in anything more revealing than a stately boatneck, and that includes in the 1980s.

Not saying that this is the case here, but a lot of times people stay in longtime, unsatisfying relationships from habit and inertia. But then if one of them meets someone else, that can trigger the move to end the marriage. I watched this happen last year. The partner who left wasn't actively seeking a new relationship, it just fell in her lap and she went for it. It shocked everyone who knew her and her husband as a couple. But at a certain age I guess a lot of people suddenly decide they still have a lot of life to live and want to make the best of it.
Meryl should write a memoir and then go on a PR famewhore tour like Jada, haha.
