Didn't we think the BI about the freebie-hoarding celeb in NYC was potentially her? I know it's not about a soon to be split couple, but it's a chink in the armor. Maybe there's an additional clue in that one as well, though.

They're both ugly. She looks like a horse and he has no chin.
She'll always be Buffy's snotty friend to me.

I hated Million Dollar Baby. I couldn't believe it when it won Best Picture.

I actually liked "Million Dollar Baby" but I don't know how it got "Best Picture" either. Hialry for best actress? Sure. Best Picture? Not really seeing it. I just think that Hollywood has a huge amount of love for Clint Eastwood. If anyone else had directed that film, I doubt it would have won.

If their marriage is ending due to Chad being sick of being "Mr. Swank," he won't like how it's mentioned on the new People cover (the one with Angelina on it): Hillary Swank's Surprise Split" accompanied by a picture of the two of them with Hill in the foreground.

I've seen pictures of it, and is a pretty nice trailer park... the grounds are landscaped, the trailers of the 'mobile home' variety that looks like a house, and not something that goes around on wheels. It's actually just as nice-looking as many typical suburban neighborhoods, and the trailers are a helluva lot nicer looking than many people's actual houses.

I'm not annoyed by the "I'm just a girl from the trailer park" stuff. I've got a soft spot for folks from working class backgrounds that make it big: Jim Carey, Sarah Jessica Parker, Hilary Swank, the Jackson family (before they got creepy), etc. It's interesting how the same stuff that bugs one person is kind of endearing to another. <shrugs>

Ashley Judd pulled that, after playing all sophisticated and glamorous for a few years she out-of-the-blue came up with this "Gee! I'm just a li'l country girl finding myself in H-Wood!" schtick. And on another thread, someone mentioned that Renee Zelwegger played the "I'm just a gal from nowheres!" card. I also like it when someone comes from nothing and makes it big, but I hate when they play the game, make sure they're securely ensconced on their celebrity throne, then pull the "li'l ol' me" act. But as you yourself said, to each his own! I personally like the attitude that people like Sharon Stone and Catherine Zeta-Jones embody -- "I'm rich, famous, gorgeous and I'm completely entitled to any and all adoration coming my way!" On the other hand, you've got people like Paris Hilton with the same attitude (subtracting the "gorgeous" part) and that just makes me gag. So I guess it's a thin line, and completely subjective to us celeb-watchers.

It really IS a thin line, isn't it? It's funny that you mention Catherine Zeta-Jones because I have a weird fondness for her too. I think it's because she's SINCERELY shallow and materialistic (lol). (Plus CZJ doesn't seem mean spirited like that twit Paris Hilton.) But back to Hilary Swank: Whenever I've seen her talk about her background it's more with a sense of wonder that she's made it so far. Same with Jim Carey. What really annoys ME is when people just flat out misrepresent their backgrounds. E.g. Act as if they grew up in the hood when they really grew up middle class. (I'm looking at you JLo!) That really bugs.

I'd much rather hear one of these folks talking about how they got where they are than listen to Gwyneth Paltrow (or her mother) blather on about how little Gwyneth held one horrid little job before Uncle Morty handed her a role in Hook.
