I think he's funny. The music is okay.
Some of his fans are way obnoxious with the "Robbie is just too good for the U.S., they don't understand him/his humor" thing.

I think its just a matter of preference. There's really no market here for his music. I think people understand it...they're just not interested.

Thanks, that is what I was trying to say in my clumsy way. My crazy theory is that in the US the adults who would listen to pop listen to country instead- it has a cheeky, adult themed aspect that is really similar imho as well as the love of a local-boy-done-good and bordering-on-cheesy ballads.
I can't see Robbie in a cowboy hat but I think his stage persona and life story would be a huge hit with that audience, much more so than the adult alternative crowd or the dance hipsters they tried to market him to.

I agree. They tried to hard to lump him in with the MTV crowd who don't know how to read him.
I can speak from experience on the issue of country being so popular here...everyone I know is a huge country fan. Even my niece, who is 14, listens to country.

I will have to be a party of one, but I am thrilled that the U.S. hasn't had to suffer this tool. We have plenty of our own and don't need to import any, thank you very much.
And after watching Robbie perform at Live 8, I am completely baffled as to how he achieved fame anywhere. He was awful, coming in a close second to Mariah Carey as worst act at the UK Live 8 concert.

RW not being big in the US really makes me wish that I lived there instead of in Europe where he is shoved down our throats all the time. Him and his songs bore me to death and I don't find him attractive at all.

I reckon he's not as popular in the UK now as he was a few years ago...or am I wrong? I stream a number of London radio stations and they don't play him as much as before. Are others starting to feel the same way as you and twodollars?

It could be that he is not as popular, I'm not the best person to ask because I block out most information about RW, but there's still much hype about him, and almost everybody I know think he's the coolest thing ever. He's coming to Denmark this summer and the tickets were gone in two seconds.

I could listen to "Hollywood Will Listen" twenty times in a row and laugh every single time. I adore Robbie. The video of him twiddling his nipples and twirling his ween on his website was priceless!
