Roger Ebert said this weekend he is the probable Best Actor winner. Here is an interview from Vanity Fair. It talks about his wife of 35 years Jean. His wife's name is Susan. Very sloppy writing by the author. His wife is Susan, as the writer acknowledges in the same paragraph he calls her Jean. I'm pretty sure Jean is the person that took the picture of Jeff/Susan at their first meeting. Although that is not what the article says. From later in the article:

I follow him on Facebook and when I saw his post my heart just sank. I think he caught this early or has been on top of it with his doctors. I'm so thankful that I was able to meet and talk with him several years back. He is such a sweetheart and a gracious person. I have a photo that is in my office and it always makes me smile. This year can just back off him and Betty White. Two American treasures that I refuse to let go of!

I know a couple people who have beaten lymphoma, so hopefully it will be the same for him. I think it depends on what kind you get, but some kinds of lymphoma are very treatable.

Not The Dude! I really love him--he seems like such a cool guy. Fingers crossed he can beat this and 2020 can take it's goddamned boot off our collective necks.

My son had lymphoma and beat it. Shortly after his diagnosis, we hired a local guy to do a specialty job, very physical, on our farm. After some chatting, we learned that this guy was a lymphoma survivor, same type as my son. How wonderful it was for my son to see someone his age (mid 20s) who had battled the same thing and was clearly strong and free of it. They and their families became great friends. We also learned during that time of many people who had lymphoma and beat it. People were constantly telling us about their niece or cousin or neighbour who had it.
tl;dr Lymphoma has a high survival rate.
