Jon did a great job, in spite of Hollywood being full of a bunch of boogers who don't get his jokes. I enjoyed it, as he would say, "tremendously."

I thought he did well overall, but I don't know if my opinion holds much weight -- I liked Steve Martin who many hated as host.

I thought Jon was the best host in years. The only other host who I found that enjoyable was Steve Martin. I hope the press is fair with him. He doesn't deserve to be raked over the coals like Chris Rock and David Letterman were.

The problem is that the Academy wants a presenter who is enough of an insider to make schmoozy, self-congratulatory in-jokes (at least, according to reports I read when Chris Rock was chosen last year) while also being hip enough to draw younger viewers. Which is precisely no-one working today.
I thought he did well and hope he picks it up again next year. He definitely got better as the night went on.

I thought he did great!
Loved the campaign commercial spoofs! And the "I didn't know we could wear jeans" was a great ad lib.

I thought he did a great job too. In the past when people like Whoopi or Letterman would host, there were a number of jokes that landed with a huge thud and the audience practically groaned - Jon didn't get any of that. And hey - Toothy Tile ran right up after the show to tell him good job.
Seriously - it is a tough gig, with an audience full of people who are feeling rather self-important (if that isn't their natural state already). He did pretty well considering that is one of the toughest gigs out there.

Kostgard, I was meaning to say it all night in the Oscars thread, but never got around to it:
I LOVE YOUR AVATAR & CAPTION!
Topic: BerryBearie, you and I must be of the same mind because I too loved Steve Martin hosting. I think I loved Jon a bit more though!
