Don't ask me why, but I cannot stop giggling at this. Like - we HAVE to love one Sheen boy. HAVE to.

I think people are understanding the Chloe Jones thing much differently than I did. She died of a mysterious health problem (officially, it was liver failure, BTW) and I think Denise was implying that it very well could have been AIDS and Charlie didn't care enough to tell her.

This just really cements my (until now) irrational love of Denise Richards. ::Insert cheesy "You GO Girl!!" here:: Just chiming in to agree with you. I have always liked Denise Richards - could never really explain why. I read through the entire complaint on Smoking Gun and I have to give her props for facing the problem and leaving while pregnant. I remember when the news first came out and everyone was so shocked. Everyone figured there had to be a major reason why she would file and request full custody. Seems pretty clear now.

What a creep. I also am at a loss as to how he turned out so crazy, when the rest of his family seems so normal (well normal for Hollywood).

I'm embarrased to admit that I watched E! True Hollywood Story last weekend which was about Charlie Sheen & Denise Richards. Sheen has been in trouble since high school. At one point, he and a friend used credit card fraud to steal some electronics. The interview with him had him casually admitting it - although he didn't call it theft when that's what it was - and said that both he & the friend could have easily gotten their parents to buy what they wanted. Apparently the judge was a friend of his mother's and he skated.
When talking about his first child - an illegitimate daughter - I think he had with a girl in high school - he said something like - "...well, it's hard to think of yourself as a Dad when you're not involved in the kid's upbringing..." Sounded like a first class jerk.
There were several clips from his high school baseball coach who admitted that he ran interference for Sheen and got him out of trouble several times when he was on the baseball team.
Eventually, due to his antics he was thrown out of high school before graduation due to his continued actions.
All in all, he came across as spoiled and self-involved and as someone who felt that he was entitled and really had no respect for other people at all.
Whenever I see Martin Sheen lecturing to me from the TV set, I think he should have paid more attention to what was going on with his own family before it was too late.

I remember a story about Charlie Sheen when he was going out with Kelly Preston , I think he shot her in the calf of her leg - soon after she got a ring from him - they were engaged for about a minute and then broke up .
Anyone else remember this ?
I wonder if he will get fired from 2 1/2 men ?

I never heard that Kelly Preston story before. He got away with shooting someone? I remember the first time Denise filed for divorce and their were all the rumors about the stuff mentioned in the petition. Martin Sheen got on his high horse and said it wasn't true and his son wasn't like that. I can see why someone as well adjusted as his parents have a kid like him. They're in complete denial about his behavior. Always covering up for him and probably turning a blind eye. She could be lying, but his history doesn't really support that. Good on her for getting out. He sounds crazy.

I don't think Martin Sheen covering up for his son, means he's in denial that Charlie has problems. My parents would probably do the same thing. Deal with the problem in private but don't make a big deal of it in public because most people just love the gossip side of a person's burden but don't really share his concerns, so why give them more amunition?
Re Kelly Preston. They had just gotten engaged when the shooting happened but they both claimed it was an accident, that's why he got away with it.

Years and years of abuse of hard drugs will do that to a person.
ITA. The Sheens seem like the type of parents that will never acknowledge their son did anything wrong.

As I recall about Martin Sheen - he turned Charlie in to police for his drug use. I can't remeber what happened regarding that - (slap on the wrist?), but Maritn also shipped that kid off to rehab at Promises (IIRC ) twice
I don't think he is in denial about Charlies vices .
