If thse charges against Charlie are true, then "asshat"'s the kindest word for him. While Denise made a mistake marrying him, that pales compared to the mistakes he's already made/ been accused of making, as far as I'm concerned.

I'm not in any way defending Charlie. But you have to remember that acrimonious divorces get really, really ugly. Accusations of all kinds, fly back and forth. Drug abuse, alcohol abuse, adultery, pornography and when it's really bad, child molestation. I think Charlie is at a disadvantage because, even if he is innocent of all these things, his past casts him in a bad light already. I'll be interested in reading Charlie's legal response.

Wasn't he married to some chick ( Diana Peale ? ) for like 16 days before she hightailed it out of there ? That should have been an indicator that he wasn't marriage material , especially knowing full well of his history with Heidi Fleiss and his proclivities toward " deviant sex ".

Here's his response; no direct statements about legal recourse, but the "defamation of character" angle is being worked.

“I’m deeply saddened because this is clearly demonstrating a wanting and willful attempt at what I describe as a radical and transparent smear campaign and clearly a departure from sound, sane, responsible co-parenting,” Sheen said.

Donna Peele. I think when she married him he was claiming to be born again and squeaky clean.

Was Donna Peele the one who accused him of assaulting her? I remember her having pictures of herself with bruises and a split lip. Or I could be confusing this with something that happened to Robert Downey Jr. and/or Tom Sizemore. I've got all of their arrest histories tangled together in my head.

I believe what Denise says is true because each time Charlie claimed to have gotten his s--t together, he'd make a smarmy apperance on a talk show or do a self-serving interview in People magazine. But he'd always crack jokes and make light of his many, many past problems as if having a sense of humor about them meant that he hadn't acted like a sleezeball.

I never, EVER felt that he was truly sincere OR remorseful. He acted like someone who felt that all his past transgressions would be excused by the public because he was so cute and charming. At least in his mind.

But I personally believe it was all a snow job and that on none of those occasions, did he have any intention of changing because he really didn't see anything wrong with his behavior.

I always thought Sheen was more of a drug/sex addict fuck up sleazeball than any kind of danger. The legal stuff filed by Richards rings frighteningly true, though. And it doesn't seem like she's going to extra lengths to smear him - just saying the porn looked underage, not that it definitely was.
