Yeah. He used to bring on sick kids and give them toys or pay for a vacation to Disneyland for their families, and such. Once he bought a car for a single mother with a sick kid who had to take her daughter to the doctor by bus all the time, which was cool because she reallllly needed it and cried when she saw it. But he hasn't done anything like that in years. I guess it's more fun (?) to freak people out with that solemn voice he does when he tells a nervous guy, "In the case of [baby X]....you are NOT the father."

Maury also used to do some funny hidden camera shows, which have also fallen by the wayside in favor of the whole "I slept with my husband's brother and I don't know who my babydaddy is" thing. Shame.

I can see the resembelance to Jerry Springer's show, but Springer's show is much funnier than Maury's. At least Springer doesn't pretend he's doing his guests a big important service. He just sits back and lets them punch each other.

I love his show! What are you people talking about? Makes me feel awesome about myself when some woman is testing the 12th guy for paternity. I saw Connie Chung being interviewed once, and she said she didn't go out with him at first because he had a reputation as a sort of player. So he's been a freak for a while, it seems.

A recent one really pissed me off-he had abusive husbands on, and they would totally berate and humiliate their wives, hit them, cheat on them, make slaves out of them.

Instead of helping the women to LEAVE these assholes, he had a drill sergeant take the guys to a morgue, and then a funeral home where they had the women lying in the caskets or something, to shock the guys.

Yeah, I'm SURE that's gonna help. The guys were all, "oh baby, I'm sorry!" That's gonna last about five minutes.

That "solution" is the equvilant of putting a band-aid on a gunshot wound.

I also hate Maury because he still does those "Send my out-of-control teen to bootcamp!" shows. The teens are almost always female and are usually "out of control" because they wear skimpy clothing and have sex. Their idiot mothers cry and wail while at the same time letting their brats walk all over them and talk shit to them. Then some tough-looking dudes make the girls go to a jail and scrub toilets and such, and the girls cry and wail, "I'm sorry, mama! I'll be good now!" into the camera.

It's so disturbing on so many levels.

To be fair, some of them are fourteen, dress like complete streetwalkers, and have promiscuous, unprotected sex, and many of them want to have babies. We're not talking sixteen year olds who wear shorts and tee shirts and have protected sex with a boyfriend.

But yeah, the boot camp solution is stupid-a lot of instructors I've heard loathe having these morons at their camps.

And Maury never says to mom, "Hey, why didn't you start being a parent BEFORE all this shit got started?"

True...but still, I get so tired of the "girls who have sex are bad and must be punished" thing. Maury just pushes that too damn much for my liking. Why doesn't he bring on the stupid, just-as-irreponsible BOYS who are having sex with these underage girls, and send THEM to boot camp, too? It makes me so mad. I read in a tabloid that Connie is a self-hating Asian, according to one of her relatives. The boy they adopted is white. Connie said she wanted to adopt a child from Asia but for some reason never did. I just think that Connie simply didn't want an Asian child.

Yes! I want to see this too. It takes TWO dumbasses to have sex and make a baby. Why do only the dumbass girls get chastised.
