I read in a tabloid that Connie is a self-hating Asian, according to one of her relatives. The boy they adopted is white. Connie said she wanted to adopt a child from Asia but for some reason never did. I just think that Connie simply didn't want an Asian child. I hate the "self-hating" label, especially applied to someone's race/culture. It's next to impossible to disprove and is so corrosive to someone's image. Anyway, I saw an interview with Connie where she explained that they wanted to adopt an American baby, preferably either Asian or white. They were told that very few Asian-American babies are put up for adoption (this is true; the number is vanishingly small) and that the baby would probably be white. The interviewer asked why they didn't adopt internationally and Connie said that they knew that there are lots of kids in America that need families, too. I don't find anything wrong with that. Maury has adult children from his first marriage. Are any of them in tv?

His shows were going down hill when I was watching them. First they would have these kids who looked different and have a show where a country singer would come in and sing to them and it was great. Then there was a show where you had to guess which woman was really a man. After that, I just couldn't watch it anymore.

Well, I wouldn't have a problem with it if they didn't adopt a white infant. Isn't that the most sought after child?
Oh well, whatever. She's always annoyed the crap outta me, and he's scummy. His father was a wonderful sportswriter - he's probably rolling in his grave.

Considering that Maury and Connie had a private adoption, a white male infant is not difficult to adopt. People in their income bracket have access to adoptions that the average family does not. And no, I wouldn't have expected them to get in line at County Social Services any more than Nicole Kidman or Rosie O'Donnell did.

I know! I hate how he never questions the moms and lets them wail and cry and play the martyr. Frankly, I'd bet a good percentage of them are "reformed skanks" themselves. Kids tend to learn what's appropriate by example, and most of those moms are just "protesting way too much".
The babydaddy shows have gotten way too depressing. I just could not imagine having the venom to call a former sex partner all kinds of nasty names on tv. How do these guys ever get laid again? And then the poor kids of these idiots...

I love his show! What are you people talking about? Makes me feel awesome about myself when some woman is testing the 12th guy for paternity. Me too. I know it's wrong. But I just can't stop. Also, just for spice, he occasionally does lie detector tests to prove that one half of a couple is/isn't cheating.

According to your quote, Connie said that there were plenty of American children in need of a home. Well, those would be the County kids, who are growing a beard waiting on a family, not the private adoption babies.
I didn't expect them to go the county route, but more the international route, since Connie is Asian and said she would like to get an Asian child. Her relative who was bitching about her said that she is a self-hating Asian and didn't expect Connie to ever adopt Asian. This was as much as I could read while standing in line, but if what the relative said was true. . .
Why didn't Connie just shut up about adopting an Asain child? In fact, I'm thinking there might be some truth to what the relative said, because why would she speak about it, if she simply wanted to adopt the a "needy" child?
Well, if you believe Rosie, her first child is part black. I'm thinking she did go the county route with at least one child, because she was fostering to adoption, and she did the unthinkable and returned that child.

I thought they would have stopped with sending the kids to boot camp after all of those bad reports about them. Also the death of a boy that was sent there. Then again I can't believe this show is still on the air. I remember many years ago he had a show about a pregnant 9 or 10 year old. She was raped by a mentally handicaped family friend. I thought there was no reason to have that on the air. They did not have her and the rapist on the air but the two sets of parents. He never said anything about trying to help the families only let people criticize them.

This is the guy that did the doomed comeback from the Michael Jackson camp after the Martin Bashir interview.."Michael Jackson's Martin Bashir Interview:The Fottage You Didn't See".
Ha! I didn't know the guy was a journalist. Doesn't sound like he is a very good one.
