Speaking strictly from a legal point of view, how dumb can you be to leave a message like that, knowing it's going to be recorded? Obviously, if your ex has your threats on tape, you are in way more trouble than if it's a "he said, she said" debate. Dumbass.

He's such a douchebag. His rep told Extra:

Alec Baldwin's spokesperson released the following statement to the TV show "EXTRA": "In the best interest of the child, Alec will do what the mother is pathologically incapable of doing ... keeping his mouth shut and obeying the court order. The mother and her lawyer leaked this sealed material in violation of a court order. Although Alec acknowledges that he should have used different language in parenting his child, everyone who knows him privately knows what he has been put through for the past six years."

So with this statement, he gets in a shot at his ex-wife, tries to make it sound like he's doing everything right, doesn't acknowledge being an asshole parent, AND tries to justify his behavior.

I know that a lot has been said about Kim Bassinger being just as bad as him, but I can't imagine how unless she leashed the girl to the back of a car and sped down the freeway.

The worst I've heard so far has been that she put a loving note on a post-it and attached it to a candy bar... and I don't see how that can be compared to this.

What I read is that Ireland broke her arm some time ago, Kim didn't let Alec know until he came to pick her up (even though he had called the house to talk to her). Therefore Alec got her a cell phone. Which Kim apparently freaked out over. I think they are both crazy but this has put Alec over the top, though if she leaked it she is an ass.

This makes me sad as I love 30 Rock and him in it (and his Letterman appearance last week that mentioned Ireland). Poor Tina Fey, first Tracey Morgan gets a DUI and now this-cannot be good for a struggling show that is trying to build more good press.

ETA: and of course poor Ireland, she has I think 4 more years of this until she is 18.
