I don't have a mother in law, but if I did, I damn sure wouldn't want her to be the psycho Jane Fonda

I have heard that she is a really nice, down to earth woman, but I refuse to believe it. In my mind, she is a cold, controlling, fake biotch. Carry on.

Hate. Her.
I'm with crankie, what she did was unforgiveable and her "apology" wasn't real, it was one of those half-assed PR apologies.
Couldn't care less about her as an actress and don't want to see any of her films - just the sight of her makes me sick.

I've always liked her as an actress-and I can separate that from her politics. Can't wait to see this interview when I'm home with speakers.

I don't see the big deal here, I think if anything she doesn't have a brain filter. She said I was asked to do a monologue called xxxx, it isn't as though she just shouted it out for no reason. Jeez. One of my favorites books is called xxxx: A Declaration of Independence (by Inga Muscio) and my Women's Lit class manage to discuss the book without getting our knickers in our twist.
She should have censored herself since she was a nationally televised morning show, but what she said was not inherently bad or offensive. She was telling the story about how she asked to do a monologue called xxxx, nothing else too it.

I agree that she was just talking about the monologue and made a mistake. I do not think that she intentionally meant to offend. I have always loved her -- and still do. I would rather hear "xxxx" in this context than some of the other racist, sexist or homophobic things that are said on telly. Of course, I am not saying that "xxxx" should be said on telly, but it also really bothers me that "bitch" is now acceptable on telly programs (obviously, not on "The Today Show" but on other programs)

I loved the story Kathy Griffin told about Jane in her last special. Jane & Kathy were at some CNN roast/toast for Larry King and Dr Phil was there all. Dr Phil was coming on to Jane big time and Kathy said that everytime he started to get a little too close for Jane's comfort she'd bring up something about Bush (because Dr Phil is a Republican) - something like "I hear George Bush is drinking again, he's a terrible alcoholic don't you know" and Dr Phil just didn't know what to do or say.
i think Jane's probably at the age where she really doesn't give a damn what she says or if she offends someone but in the context of the discussion I don't think what she said was offensive.
