Here's what you do: Watch "Something's Got to Give" and just stop the movie when she and Keanu are eating dinner in paris. It's a much better movie that way. Oh, good idea. It's the only time where I wish we could chose an alternate ending to the film.

I may sound old-fashioned but I didn't see anything romantic in Jack-Amanda and Keanu-Diane relationships. They were both icky to me, more so Jack-Amanda because Jack is kinda gross looking now.Besides I am a firm opposer of movies where characters are driven by reason rather than love. She loved Jack regardless of how good the young 'un made her feel. So in my eyes, she should have been with the icky man she loves rather than the hot shot who adores her. That's just me tho.

Diane Keaton is so cool. She's COOL. I think her weirdo style suits her perfectly and I wouldn't want to see her completely glamorourized and changed in real life cause it would seem so fake. I remember seeing her on Oprah and thinking she seems like a nice person too.

I loved her in Father of The Bride as Steve Martin's beleaugered wife. She played it very real.

I agree, gingerdangerous. Diane takes a lot of heat for dressing "frumpy." But I really respect her for sticking to her own style and refusing to give in Hollywood's idea of glamour. I hope the L'Oreal endorsement doesn't change that.

She won an Oscar for the 1977 film Annie Hall (Best Actress), which also garnered Oscars for Best Picture and Best Director (Woody Allen). That is when her (fashion) style really emerged. She also starred in The Godfather trilogy. Guilty pleasure = Baby Boom.

I always had a feeling that she WAS Annie Hall (her real last name is Hall). "Looking For Mr. Goodbar" is good. Right around the same time as Annie Hall, but she's not at all goofy - and Richard Gere is a creepy creepy guy!

I think she won a GG for that performance. She and Albert Finney were both outstanding. The scene where she is in the tub ,smoking a joint, listening to the Beatles and weeping was heartwrenching. I think that movie is very often overlooked.
Word, gingerdangerous. Diane is COOL , with all caps.

I really like that she's not afraid to have her own style. So what if it looks a bit odd sometimes? I'd rather see that type of originality and authenticity than yet another actress trying to doll herself up.
And from what I've read Diane Keaton basically started an entire fashion trend in the seventies after Annie Hall came out. I believe most of the clothes she wore in the film were actually hers and after the film was released it became more and more popular for women to wear men's style clothing. I think it's pretty cool that an actress who seems so removed from the Hollywood glamour thing is the one that manages to stars a fashion trend.
