My college sweetheart adored Diane Keaton. Annie Hall is her favorite movie. I've always thought she rocked as an actress, and was about half-loopy in real life.

On the commentary for The Godfather Frances Coppola is bragging about how he set Diane and Al Pacino up and how they had this intense relationship for years because of him. He spoke about during pre-production Diane was cast early and he would her asked which man do you like best out of the Michael auditionees, and she like Al soooo much. Not that I blame her, Al Pacino was a fox back in the day. And then Coppola goes on to say how he organised an evening in a fancy hotel with room service and the works so they could get comfortable with each other that scene in the film which originally had them in bed, and how afterward they hooked up.
So, no comment on Pacino? That must have ended in tears. Or punches. No doubt lots of crazy shouting.

My husband LOVES this movie. It's hilarious. If it's on, he'll even watch it instead of his precious baseball. I should order it on DVD for him. It is on DVD isn't it? If not, it should be.

I love Baby Boom! And I loved her as the older sister of Jessica Lange and Sissy Spacek in Crimes of the Heart!

Is BB the one where she makes babyfood in Vermont or something? If so, that is such a cute movie.

I absolutely love Diane Keaton. I think she's a wonderful actress but also an incredibly interesting and cool person. In particular, I admire how she's got such an individualistic creative drive. That is, she just likes what she likes. She's interested in what she's interested in. To hell with everyone else. lol. I just find that very cool. I know some people see her as weak because she verbalizes her insecurities, but I don't see her that way at all. Sure she's got insecurities. But more than anything, I think she's just an incredibly authentic and real person. She verbalizes the stuff that all of us feel but are afraid to admit. Her choices in life (e.g. turning down then hot Warren Beatty's marriage proposal, adopting children as a single mom, pursuing her own artistic ideas, etc.) show that she's got a pretty strong sense of self.

Beatty proposed? I thought they broke up during the filming of Reds and she was pissed because he was cheating? It's funny though that Beatty kept getting turned down everytime he proposed. Julie Christie turned him down several times.

Wow. I never thought I would see a baby described as "seductive." Ooook.
