Im more shocked at gonorrhea. 1 in 3 people has herpes, most people never have a recurrance. But Gonorrhea. Its like, vintage. I know an OB/GYN nurse who tells me that all the classics are coming back including trichomoniasis, which she said she hadn't seen in years. It got me rethinking the whole idea of dating again. I work in a urology office and, while the numbers aren't off the charts, we do still test patients for the classic STDs (and the new generation of STDs.). And it's not just the "young, dumb and full of cum" patients. |

I'm sorry, he's horrible! Giving her herpes, calling her a drama queen bc she's upset by that, and sending her those texts? What a self-involved prick.
I don't care if he was helping her financially; I'm sure he didn't give her any amount that he would miss. And while you can't blame him for the suicide, is it that surprising that a young person would be overwhelmed by that news? He def played a role. That's really some of the worst behavior I've heard about from a famous person in a while.

I don't think this woman had a lot of support. Her family was in Ireland. I got the impression her estranged green card husband was her main support. And she had pursued Scientology at some point, which isn't a good sign.
The whole part about being bullied by Carrey and pressured to sign a non-disclosure agreement is what strikes me as most ridiculous. She must have had very low self-esteem and felt very powerless to behave as if he had any authority over her.
Mentally healthy people don't kill themselves because of being diagnosed with treatable/curable infections. It sucks, but you get your prescriptions filled and deal with it. Carrey is a horrible person (I'm not surprised) but this lawsuit is just about making the STI information public, and I don't see why the estranged green card husband deserves a dime.

Question: Is Herpes I really a STD? I thought almost everybody has it and you just have to share a water bottle to get it. Oral herpes is Simplex I. Genital herpes is Simplex II. He reallyshould have used protection. I don't blame the ex for being so upset. No one in my immediate family (myself, MMS, and our two kids) have herpes, and I would really like to keep it that way. Jim Carrey is a self-entitled, misogynistic asshole who probably uses his various mental illnesses as excuses for treating people like shit. I hope Donnie Wahlberg gets his junk checked out professionally since he's married to Carrey's ex--and our favorite anti-vaxxer to hate--Jenny McCarthy. |

I don't know if it will change anything, and he hardly seems to have a career anymore, but I'm glad this came out. I don't care about the green card husband's motives, I hope Carrey loses something he cares about over this. Money, reputation, clout, whatever, I don't care.

Why would she go with a has-been like Jim Carrey? I haven't heard anything about him in years.
I think her estate should sue him for giving her the STDs because that's just wrong.

I'm confused. She was married? Why was she cheating on her husband? She and her husband became estranged before she started dating Carrey in 2015. Estranged husband is taking advantage of the fact that he is still officially her next of kin since they were not divorced. |

She was married to him to get a green card and stay in the States. The green card through marriage is usually obtained with not much hassle, unless immigration officers are suspicious of motive. They were both reasonably attractive and young so not difficult to get through I guess. However it comes with a condition. You have to stay married to that person for two years and apply again to remove the condition on the green card. To have your application approved, you have to submit evidence to Immigration that yours is a true marriage, and that may include pictures, trips you took together, taxes filed, bills under both names, etc. From the looks of it, it doesn't seem like theirs was a real marriage, hence why I don't even consider it cheating. Neither does her husband it seems.
Jim Carrey is horrible for first giving her STDs and after he realized that it was pretty easy to prove that it was by him since she had been tested before they dated, dumped her and pressured her to sign the paper so that he wouldn't be sued. No concern at all for her feelings. I hope this makes his dating life hell and that women request he put two condoms instead of one before they have sex with him. If that happens. I find him gross now and have never found him funny but for the most part, I've been neutral to him. This puts him in major skeeve territory.
With that said, I can't be rooting for a Scientologist either as any money they would get would go into causing more damage to other people. I think the husband cares about Jim's money, Scienos are seeing dollar signs all over and this will do no good to the memory of the poor woman, who despite all seems to have loved JC until the end. And now her name and medical problems are being discussed in the media and she can't defend herself. I feel bad for her family in Ireland. No winners here.
