This puts him in major skeeve territory. It certainly does, but hopefully he's seeking treatment for the STIs if he hasn't already.

"The actor says that the statements regarding claims that he gave White STDs without warning, called her a 'whore' and used 'fixers' to silence her are 'irrelevant' to the wrongful death case."
Quite telling that the claims are only irrelevant to the wrongful death case, not false. Dirtbag!

Perhaps by arguing "irrelevant" he can get those issues put aside rather than conducting an embarrassing debate over their accuracy.
It speaks to how little I've always thought of Jim Carrey that none of this surprises me. He's always seemed like an unpleasant person who only cares about himself.
Still, I think the lawsuit itself is gross. A bad boyfriend is not to blame when his ex-girlfriend commits suicide. This is her family trying to blackmail him because he's rich, which makes me not so interested in the details. They already showed their hand. I don't think he should be in court having to go over the details of his STI's and breakup texts, but I don't feel sorry for him either so I'm mostly indifferent.

They may not succeed in their lawsuit but they've certainly succeeded in exposing his douchebaggery. I was watching some old 30 Rock episodes and he was a guest star and I was so grossed out by him I skipped all his scenes. I don't know how much the average person knows about this situation but it's possibly done permanent damage to his career and that doesn't bother me one bit.

Plus, Jenny McCarthy has no standards, does she? Absolutely none.

I saw Liar Liar last night, and found it unwatchable. I remember finding his antics hilarious years ago. No longer. I think I am ruined also. It's too easy to see the psychopath at the edges of his characters now. I used to think he was skating close to the edge before. Now I see he firmly crossed that line in all his movies.

Yeah, I'm not sure he's not right about the relevancy aspect. Unless there's proof he literally pushed her to suicide I don't get this case. But being an unmitigated asshole and being not guilty in a wrongful death suit aren't mutually exclusive, so...

I think one of the reasons he's such a miserable prick is because in his warped mind his career was ruined by his incredible success as a comedian. He's been openly bitter about his great dramatic acting talent not being recognized since Cable Guy, and that was a looooong time ago.
