Renee has always gone for troubled men, before and after Jim. I believe before she was famous she had a fiance who committed suicide. And after Jim she dated Jack White, who supposedly treated her terribly (easy to believe) and then there was that Kenny Chesney fiasco. I don't think Jim can be blame for Renee's lifetime full of terrible boyfriends, he just fits the pattern.

And I don't think Jim goes for stable women either so it works both ways.

What a disgusting woman. To exhort someone with false STD results is horrible. Cathriona White and everyone around her, including the husband's lawyer Avenatti are horrible people. She already had a STD and he paid her off in 2013 only to get back with her.

This makes sense. I feel like it’s been years since I’ve seen him act, save for SNL. Not touching on his personal life, but I always thought Jim was immensely talented and never really got the respect he deserved in regards to his acting. I honestly think he should have an Oscar, or at least a nomination, for the Truman Show.

I found him overrated as an actor; I guess his comedic style just isn’t my cup of tea at all.

I recall that in the Eternal Sunshine poster I could not get over how much he looked like the Nate from 6 Feet Under actor.

I have been impressed by his “sickened by standing ovation for Smith comments”. That for me was also the most disturbing part of the whole thing since it was an almost en-masse decision to do the Wrong Thing in contrast to when it was just one individual.

I think some of this decision or at least the timing has to do with this stupid backlash bringing up shit from 20 years ago in retaliation for him speaking up over Will Smith. Which is sad. I won’t miss him as an actor personally, but I do like the guts to go against the crowd and stick your head above the parapet a’la JK Rowling in any situation, and I feel sad that, increasingly, the kind of backlash those gutsy individuals receive means that everyone will be too scared to voice their own opinions anymore.

Used to be a huge fan, but glad he’s retiring.

Don’t care about his opinion of The Slap^TM while he’s promoting Sonic the Hedgehog 2.

I’m sad about his Oscar nomination snubs for The Truman Show and Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind (thanks for reminding me, Ladybug!), but I’m sad he’s ending his acting career (if he’s truly retiring, also mentioned by ahah) on Sonic the Hedgehog 2.

Wow, I’d forgotten about the suicide of his girlfriend and the lawsuit by her mom. No one looked good in any of that mess. And her lawyer from the STD case was the one one and only Michael Avenatti!
