That article makes him sound like a total dick. Where were Joachim's other children? Agreed. He comes off as a petulant brat. I really doubt he didn't know he wouldn't be crowned king consort, so the whining makes him look spoilt. Totally spoilttt! (apologies to Paris Hilton) I know French nobility is a bit extra, but seriously.

Also, on Royal Dish, they have this obsession with Mary supposedly looking at the camera. In 99% of the photos, you can clearly see that her gaze is no where near the cameras, it's usually off to the side or past them, or sometimes in a completely different direction, but it fits their narrative, so they run with it. That kind of criticism always makes me roll my eyes, no matter if it's directed at a princess or a movie star. It assumes there's only one camera, when there are usually dozens, and there's really nowhere else to look.

She was in Seattle this weekend for the opening of the new Nordic Heritage Museum (the museum is not new, but they just moved to a fancy new building.) I have a friend who is a liveaboard down at Shilshole, and on Saturday morning he texted my husband a selfie of himself and the President of Iceland. He had been walking his dog when three black SUVs pulled up to the marina coffeeshop looking for coffee. When we saw him that night I asked about Princess Mary and he didn't know, but later found out she had been there as well. "I should have asked who everybody in the group was!" he said. I have no idea why they would go down to the marina looking for coffee, it doesn't seem like a very likely spot when there are tons of coffee shops on Ballard Ave and Market Street (which is where the museum is.)

A bit of drama in Denmark, Frederick and Mary apparently own a secret ski lodge in Switzerland. They bought it with public money and have been renting it out when they're not using it. The purchase wasn't approved by the government (which has to approve purchase of foreign assets).

Bought it with public money and profiting on it, yikes!

Wow, that is really bad. I wonder how they are going to handle this.

. I love it. You don't expect this kind of sleaziness from Scandinavians which makes it all the better.

I want to know how much money they made off that ski lodge. They should have to turn it all over to the government, since they bought it with public funds.

Royal Dish is not as excited about this story as I thought they would be. Not even one remark like, "This is what happens when you marry Bogan trash!" Seeking some more information, I found out from No Idea that only Mary and the children are moving to Switzerland for 3 months. No Idea put this under the headline that Mary and Fred are "living apart" and referred to it as "their separation". Also, the Queen is dating a younger man (he's 76) and this gentleman frequently attended parties at the palace when Henrik was alive. Overlap! Overlap!
