Do we Australians have to give a nickname to everything? Mary's newborn son has now been dubbed the Kingaroo. LMAO! Love it... Still no name for the wee one?

OK, I'm glad that they got a healthy boy, but I must admit that I'm a bit dissapointed as I was hoping for a girl, so the constitution could finally be dealt with. During her pregnancy I got so angry at some of the old-fashioned parties who argued that there was no need to change the law, as woman could not reign as man could...WTF? Queen Magrethe does a pretty decent job, I will say.
I don't really have the impression that Mary is such a hard worker, sorry. Compared to Princess Alexandra (Prince Joachim's ex - he seems like a dick, though...man, the stories I've heard about him and Frederik) she falls far behind, and I don't think she has any charisma at all. Alexandra seems so much more mature, intelligent and articulate than her, so I always thought the wrong one became crown princess.

I totally agree. Alexandra seems much more natural too like she's been doing this all her life. Maybe it's still considered early days with Mary, but she seems like she's trying to hard to be the "perfect princess" and play the part. I'd feel much more at ease having a conversation with Alexandra or even Queen Elizabeth than Mary.
I would love it if the little prince's name isn't Christian John Fredrick family names blahblah. They probably won't end up breaking with tradition, but royalty's come a long way in almost 40 years, you never know.

Based on recent revelations it seems the right woman is the crown princess, that being Princess Mary. The fact that Alexandra could have been having an affair with her current boy toy when she was HRH seems to be rocking the Danish tabs these days. Poor Joachim was taking the hit when it was the Mrs. all along.

Sorry, I don't know if the Danish tabs are right about Alexandra, none of us do, but in no way is it "poor Joachim". He goes out here in Copenhagen, and he doesn't seem like a gentleman. Not that it has anything to do with Joachim being a gentleman or not, but consensious here is that he is gay (you know, like CTC is gay), so he has to prove that he indeed likes the ladies. It's only recently that the Danish tabloids have turned on Alexandra, and the Danish tabloids are really trash, I must say, so I don't trust them on anything. I still stand by my opinion that judging by work ethics, Alexandra is far more superior and have a lot more of a personality than Mary.
My point is, if Mary and Frederik ever divorce (I certaintly hope not), you will never know what the tabloids will dig up about Mary.
ETA: I also read a lot of racist comments about Alexandra from some of the political parties, when Joachim married Alexandra and I thought she really handled everything really well, but it made me realise how old-fashioned some are in regards to the royal family. I was really hoping for someone to rock traditions and it doesn't seem like it's going to be Mary. That's why I'm so dissapointed that she at least didn't have a girl. I will always be grateful for Alexandra if nothing else that she put fresh air into the royal family.

What do you mean, Joachim doesn't seem like a gentleman? What have you heard about Joachim and Frederik?
Topic? I think Mary and Frederik look really cute together and hope this marriage lasts.

Considering that the tabs have a picture of Alexandra with her current boyfriend (while she was still married and before any announcement) attending a cooking course, I think there maybe some fire to that smoke. Joachim took the hit and she let him, how noble. She was also at least five years older than him when they married, perhaps be was a babe in the woods? I wonder if she was more career oriented than in love with the gay (I am not convinced of this rumor either as it has taken wings on the net from Alex fans) prince.
I think Mary had a long courtship and has worked incredibly hard to be a worthy representative of the firm. She may be the stronger of the two in the marriage, but perhaps that is what Frederick was looking for in a wife and it wouldn't be the first marriage of that combination.

Joachim not being a gentleman comes from when he goes to nightclubs in Copenhagen, acting drunk and hittting on everything with two legs. He hit on my friend rudely WHEN HE WAS STILL MARRIED.
Attending a cooking course? That's it? Joachim was hitting on girls before the marriage was over, as we've heard from several girls. Yes, Alexandra was older than Joachim, but I don't see why that has to do with anything, and she had a well established carreer in Hong Kong, which she left to come to Denmark. The gay rumour has not taken wings from the net from Alex fans, it was there long before her, long before internet even.
Mary only began working more after criticism from being compared to Alexandra. Before that all she was about was clothes and horses it seemed. That's quite an achievement considering the press coverage they get.
I don't have any hate for her, she just seems dull to me. Hey, I'm always one to defend the Royal family, when people say we don't need them and that they're taking all of our tax-money.
I live in Copenhagen and study nearby where they got married and when I walk by Amalienborg I always pretend like I wave to them.

What's going to happen to Princess Alexandra? Is she going to continue with royal duties or become a private citizen?
