I thought they're already in the process of changing that law? I think Sweden had the same law before Carl Gustav and Silvia had their children. They didn't change it after Victoria's birth but after her brother was born.

Victoria of Sweden excepted, yes.
Mary in Denmark, Letizia in Spain, Maxima in the Netherlands, Mathilde in Belgium and Mette-Marit in Norway...all with a baby on the way.

Well, Haakon in Norway, Willem Alexander in the Netherlands, and Philippe in Belgium will be succeeded by their daughters. At some point, there could be more reigning queens than kings in Europe.

Apparently it's a virtual certainty that the name will be Christian, as Danish kings have alternated the names Frederik and Christian since the 16th century. So that takes a little of the fun of guessing out of it!

They won't announce the little prince's name until his christening, which will probably take place in November. Apparently, he will wear the same christening gown as his father did, which is said to be on the small side, so it shouldn't be too long before the ceremony takes place.
