ITA borokat and it was wayyy painful for me to watch.
When Nelly and Timbaland performed the same song at the MMVA's in Toronto recently, she toned it down a LOT thank God. And it sounded much much better. It seemed to me almost like she was singing along to her own recording, as if there were other vocals being run while they sang live. I dunno. It sounded great though which was a surprise after seeing them on SNL.

I thought her little black bra-let shirt was totally cute on SNL, but I was not impressed by her "sexy " dancing whatsoever. I just feel embarassed when sexiness is so forced (see Hilton, Paris). Stop it Nelly, NOW.
And the one time I saw her at a smallish concert, she seemed to have perfect skin. She probably just gets breakouts like anyone else. Still thought SNL was not sexy. And I'm not old. Hell, I'm younger than her!

I think she's gorgeous. Her dancing on SNL seemed a bit silly and forced, but overall I like her. And I love the album "Whoa Nelly!"

I did like the bralet thingy, but maybe under a sheer shirt and some slacks. And maybe it was me, but I thought her jeans were way tight. Her belly was rolling over a bit and the girl does not have a gut!

The album is now #1 so commercially this was a good move for her.
I never paid attention to Nelly before and I'm not yet quite sure how I feel about the album, but Say It Right is a wonderful song. I love the chorus.

When did she turn into Ciara? I liked how she was way back when. :-(

I went to junior high with her; here's what I remember: -Absolutely flawless skin; however, this was when she was 13-14, so it could have gotten better or worse since; EVERYONE was so jealous of her skin -Played the trombone LOUDLY, and often giggled about all the spit stuck in the instrument -Was very, very giggly, flakey, and generally silly -Never mentioned being Portuguese or anything culturally related; seems to be a bit of a marketing thing, although I'm sure she's proud of her roots -I was in a play with her and remember her really stretching for the upper notes in her solo (she was "Badger" in Wind in the Willows; some of the older girls stood upstairs talking about how she was ruining her voice by shouting the higher notes and how she really needed to take care of her voice better - in the solo, Nelly would constantly complain how she "can't sing" and "can't get the high notes" and how she would either go into falsetto, which she hated the sound of, or shout, which she liked, but hurt her throat -I never hear an "accent" when she speaks; I think a lot of us in that age group from that area (Victoria, BC) speak with a kind of psuedo-valley-esque speech pattern; like nails on a chalk board for some, but sounds normal to me -She always liked hip hop and R&B, so not at all surprised that she's gone more that route Not much else; I wasn't close friends with her (she was a year behind me), but she was always super nice and fun to be around. I really liked her first and second album (except for that fricking bird song, as well as Powerless (which has that "falsetto" she hated and reminds me of her saying that), and don't much enjoy her new stuff, but it's growing on me. I think she's always been interested in getting into the music industry, and she has so much support from her home town; it's kind of nice that someone "made it big".

I stupidly bought her album last week because I am in love with her new song, Say It Right, and heard from so many people how great it was. The album sucks. Plus, she has these interludes between the songs where she giggles and says stuff that makes no sense. Who decided that interludes were necessary or cool?
