If he had just ended it because...reasons, I don’t think it would be leaving the sour “sellout” feeling. And, yes, it did end at the most opportune time.

Who would have thunk that the entire country being under lockdown, hundreds of thousands of people likely to die from a global pandemic, millions of people unemployed, the economy on the brink of collapse - that we would look back on that time a few months later as our happy fun days. Ah, we were so innocent back in March 2020.
Anyway, the foundation of Krasinski's excuse doesn't hold up because the show did not NEED to continue. I assumed that he was just producing the show for a little while during quarantine and that would be it. I don't think anybody was expecting him to give up Jack Ryan in order to host a youtube show permanently and that's what he's making it sound like.
He never indicated how long the youtube show would last, but I realize now that when he suddenly announced "episode 8 of 8" was about to air that he had just made the CBS deal. All of a sudden, he was acting like the show already had a pre-determined end date all along. Yeah right.
Who is really going to feel inspired to contribute their content for free to the CBS News empire? They are going to have to put up a prize like on America's Funniest Home Videos if they want to get that content.

Reese had a shotgun wedding when she was barely old enough to drink to a difficult person she probably never would have married if it hadn't been for the accidental pregnancy.... Dipping in the shallow end of the pool, but gah Ryan Phillippe is so hot. He gets hotter with age. Mercy. I always wonder the reaction he receives when he drops Ava off at the dorm each fall. Back to your regularly scheduled Krasinski chat. ETA: Actually, I do have an on-topic comment. I never watch SGN, but I know lots of people got some enjoyment out of it. But it also sounds like the type of show whose days were numbered anyway, sort of like the novelty of Zoom happy hours and the like. People are moving about more frequently now and don't need content like this in quite the same way. So I agree CBS buying it sounds like a curious decision unless they are reworking the whole premise.
