Squee! How can there not be a thread for my favorite prime time crush? I thought I'd start one just in time for the show to take home the Emmy tonight...and for us to chat about how adorable he looks on the red carpet.

It's so strange: objectively, I don't know that I'd give him a second (okay, no a third) glance on the street, but as an entire package - the brains, the wit, the lanky bod - he makes me swoon.

But I refuse to say anything about licking his arm hair. That's for the crazies over at TWoP.

Holy crap, the TWoP thread on him is sort of insane. Licking arm hair? That's the least of it. Although I guess it's consistent with the special sort of TWoP crazy; his thread is a lot like the thread for Michael Rosenbaum from Smallville.

That said, I blame none of the insanity on him. He's a great actor, and his best work on The Office is both subtle and so, so real.

I like him on The Office but I think a large part of his appeal is the part of Jim. The guy who plays that role is a bit like Ross from the first series of Friends or the original Tim from the UK version of The Office - he doesn't have to be that attractive but the character is so appealing that it makes the actor look that much more desirable. I hope that makes sense. I don't mean to diminish what he does on The Office, but I think it is Jim rather than John that makes the crazies come out in force.

ETA: Not that you are crazy if you like him or the character. Lord knows my heart skipped a beat when Jim kissed Pam in the season finale and I cried when Ross and Rachel first got together (ditto for Tim and Dawn in The Office UK).
