I don't know. Something about him sort of bugs me. Like he's smug. Or a know-it-all. I love Emily Blunt though. It's funny that every once in a while on The Office some character would come along who disliked Jim and Pam and the reason was usually their smugness. I never quite got how Krasinski wound up so close to George Clooney because of doing one movie with him or how Emily wound up so close to Matt Damon after doing one movie with him. I believe the social climb-y rumor.

He's friends with Bradley Cooper too (they've vacationed together in Hawaii). This guy really gets around!

Totally social climbers which is why I never warmed up to them as a couple even if they are very cute. Which, in a place like Hollywood connections are really important to secure good projects especially for two B listers like them, but they are so obvious about it. Like I'm curious to know if they also make friends with crew members or just ignore anybody else who isn't A list and therefore doesn't serve a purpose. Didn't Emily Blunt try to befriend Tom Cruise as well at one point when they made a movie together? They went out to some club. Which could perfectly be co stars hanging out but I thought it was her testing the waters of how that friendship would have been perceived in the media and what could do for them. She probably decided TC is too weird and they haven't hung out since. At least not that I'm aware of.
I also think neither of them has star power and will not elevate above their current level of fame/projects. Especially him. He's charismatic and cute but seems much more suited to TV.

I figure there has to be some kind of real friendship among these people, though. It's not like A-listers don't have anybody else kissing up to them, and you can only wrangle yourself into an invitation so many times before people start saying "Oh, well, this Caribbean vacation is just a family thing, my brother is going through some stuff right now..." or "Aw, it'd be great to have you there, but those Renaissance palazzos are pretty tiny, and you wouldn't believe how many cousins Amal has..."

Unearthed this thread to see if anyone has watched John’s quarantine YouTube project, Some Good News? He surprised a girl that missed getting to see Hamilton for her birthday with a Zoom call, first with Emily and then Lin Manuel Miranda. The original cast joins the call and sings together. It gave me all the feels! It starts around the 8:30 minute mark, youtu.be/oilZ1hNZPRM.

I haven't watched the Krasinski show yet, but it was funny re-reading through this thread about the Krasinski-Blunts and their social climbing. Fun fact: a few years ago, they actually moved into the same apartment building in Brooklyn as the Damons. They have really, really locked down that friendship.
I like A Quiet Place and thought it was very well done. Although I would not be seeing the sequel in a theater under any circumstances, I read one of the reviews that said the sequel is way better than the original and Krasinski has Spielberg-level directing skills. Thought that was interesting.

The celebrity couple friendship I really want the dirt on is the Damons and Chris Hemsworth and Elsa Pataky. Matt practically moved his family to Australia and is constantly out with C&E. Their attached at the hip.
