For various reasons, we have to be vewry, vewry quiet at my house right now. I think about A Quiet Place a lot.

It was beautifully done.
I don't have any cynicism towards him or Emily Blunt. I think like seeks like. Sometimes it's easier to make friends with people that have been through what you've been through. Clooney was ONLY T.V. until he exploded in film. I can see how he would be a mentor for John. Hemsworth too, to be honest. The outlier here is actually Damon, since he has always only been movies. But Matt also seems very cool and down to earth.
Ben Affleck on the other hand - NO! go away. I don't think it's a coincidence that he's not in this particular group of friends. He's like Matt's hanger-on that never leaves no matter how many hints they give him.

I'm just a little cynical because when you looked at the pictures of John and Emily's wedding, there were not that many guests. Yet, the most famous person from every movie they'd worked on was there - Meryl Streep, Stanley Tucci, George Clooney, Matt Damon. But not anyone from The Office. It was like they were using their own wedding to network up. Ben Affleck on the other hand - NO! go away. I don't think it's a coincidence that he's not in this particular group of friends. He's like Matt's hanger-on that never leaves no matter how many hints they give him. Lainey once wrote about this back when Ben and Jennifer Garner were still married and people were wondering why they didn't seem to hang out with the Damons that much. Lainey said the Afflecks and the Damons never really meshed as two couples, but Matt/Luciana and John/Emily had a much easier "couples chemistry" and that's why it took off. But I still have to side eye Krasinski turning that friendship into an opportunity to become the co-writer on an Oscar winner's second screenplay.

I think Stanley Tucci is married to Emily’s sister, I think I remember this from a Graham Norton Show one or other were on?! The rest and no Office folk I can’t explain. I loved the Hamilton zoom call thingy for the young fan and I’m liking. His Some Good News youtube slot. I’ve seen Emily in things not sure if I’ve seen his stuff.

I think they are expert networkers who collect friends and connections. If Hollywood were a high school, John and Emily would be the super smart kids/talented kids who are also really popular across the whole school.
I remember reading about Emily inviting Tom Cruise to hang out when they did that movie together it struck me as a popular girl trying to reach out to the nerd to include them. Tom is a total weirdo.
The cast of The Office all seem to still be close, and they have a lot of get togethers, text all the time, etc., but John K. and Steve Carrell seem to have a little more distance from that. John always speaks well of his time on The Office, but I do think once he started working on Leatherheads w/ Clooney and met Emily, he had his sights set on a higher echelon of friends. He returns Jenna Fischer's texts (according to her Office Ladies podcast), but he's not going to go hang out at her house with Rainn Wilson and Angela and Creed.

I don't know this for a fact, it's just the impression that I get. As someone who follows a lot of these people on instagram and listens to Office Ladies, I concur. Jenna Fischer, Angela Kinsey, Oscar, Creed & Rainn Wilson socialize on a regular basis and often pop up in each other's social media. Steve Carell doesn't, and Jenna and Angela always talk about him reverently, like he's some huge celebrity they don't actually know very well. I think John Krasinski is friend- ly with everyone from The Office. Sometimes he and Jenna Fischer will connect in some cute way on social media. But in terms of being actual friends who hang out together? No, Krasinski never did that. He always had a separate social life. He also lives in New York now. The only cast members I think he actually sees IRL from time to time are Brian Baumgartner (Kevin) and David Denman (Roy). A few years ago, Jenna Fischer said something very actress-y in an interview about how she and Krasinski loved each other for real and that's why they had good chemistry. She wasn't really implying they actually ever had something going on IRL, but the quote got repeated. Krasinski shut that down pretty firmly and said something about how she must have been taken out of context and he "felt embarrassed for her". I think some people thought his response was a tad harsh. But, I give the guy credit for drawing clear lines around his real life and his showbiz life, and knowing which one matters.
