gah, I couldn't stand Don't Speak. I never really got into No Doubt/Gwen Stefani until they put out the dance music in Rock Steady. Which is probably about the time most of their fans claimed the band sold out, so go figure.
"Check out the November 1982 issue of French Vogue."
Woah. We just got research served.
Anyway, I kinda like her new stuff although I can't stand that spelling of bananas. What the hell is that?
Is it true that her husband cheats on her constantly?

I have a lot of No Doubt on my player too. I wish she'd go back to the Gwen of old but I think those days are gone for good.
I have to admit though, I do like a lot of her solo stuff. I just don't like the image that has seemed to come with it.

Yeah, I think her time had come when she was more famous for guesting in songs by no-name acts.

Nah, that was with Tragic Kingdom. They were absolutely kick ass live back in the day too: although they're still pretty good.
I really like Rock Steady, except for that stupid Hella Good song. Promoting the use of the word "hella" should be some kind of punishable offense.

Ok, I am an idiot--just what IS a Hollaback Girl? And the video is atrocious--how many absolutely ridiculous clothing combinations did she wear for that thing, anyway? Gwennie, you are trying WAY too hard to be hip.

I must admit that whenever her videos are on the telly, I watch them with equal parts horror and fascination.

I'm seriously considering bringing some kind of class action suit against Gwen Stefani. I saw the Hollaback Girl video at the beginning of the week, and although I loathe the song I can't stop singing it. It's playing in my head on constant repeat, and I'm having to sit on my hands to avoid buying it at iTunes. Gah!

I was just coming here to ask the same question. Batboy asked me that the other day and I'm like "It's a girl that you can...uh... call back?...um...she...Oh, hell I don't know.
Thanks a lot, Gwen. You're nonsensical lyrics ruined my omnipotent image in the eyes of my children. And for sending Batboy into fits of giggles with "This sh.. is bananas" - "She's saying shit, mom! hahaha. Banana shit. Shit is bananas. hahahaha."

This month's Harper's Bazaar magazine says that Miss Stefani has gone from an AA bra cup to a C cup. Why? She was perfectly adorable and stylish the way she was. Her small breasts suited her body and she was different and noticeable (which is what she always wanted to be, anyway). Now...she's just another Hollywood Massive Mammary Disaster.

My rough understanding of the little high-school scenario is this: a guy goes off to hook up with the prettiest, most popular girl he can. If for some reason it doesn't work out, he'll send a holla back for one of the less desirable girls, and she'll go for it because it's the best she can do. In other words, she's a desperate, second-choice girl.
