Didn't they almost split up c. 10 years ago? I swore I read somewhere that he filed at the 9 year and some change mark which is not uncommon for celebrities who make it that long ewhen they live in states where the 10 year mark means a 50/50 split. (off to google)... Yup Chris Rock filed back in '06, but withdrew it.
Also was it just urban legend gossip or was there a smidge of truth that Chris Rock and Madonna were long time not so secret luvahs? (Lola Rock named for Madonna and Rocco Ritchie named for Chris Rock)

Heh, I thought I was the only one who noticed that Malaak's thought bubble always said "Ugh, I can do so much better than this". Rock has mentioned several times that Husbands and Wives and Manhattan are some of his favourite movies, so yeah, I think his feelings about commitment and fidelity are probably complicated. I have nothing really to add, but my favorite book is Jane Eyre. I wonder what that says about my ideas about marriage and fidelity...hmm. Well if Mr. Rochester really looks like Toby Stephens, I'd be all "What attic? I ain't seen no attic in this house." |

(Then again, Chelsea Handler and 50 Cent were together for a bit, so stranger things have happened.  ) ETA: I'm not surprised in the least. Chris has always seemed restless in that marriage. That sounds like the plot for his movie I Think I Love My Wife! |

I've always found it interesting how the novel stresses how Rochester's not supposed to be attractive (conventionally, anyway) yet nearly everyone who's played him has been this total hottie! In the more recent version, Fassbender's Rochester says to Jane, "Would you say I am handsome?" She replies, "No, sir." I said (out loud in the theatre) "Are you KIDDING ME?!" Anyway...Chris Rock. This is a little sad for me since (although he did that routine about "a man only being as faithful as his options"), I always liked the one he did on "commitment vs. new pussy." He explained that this was the dilemma all men faced, but that despite what the media would have you believe, commitment was the way to go. "New pussy isn't gonna stand by you when you lose your job and help you get back on your feet. New pussy isn't gonna make you chicken soup when you're sick. Hell, new pussy can't even COOK! What you do is find ways to keep it new and then you got the best of both worlds!" |
