I know she's pregnant but it looks like a white tent. She was adjusting her tent on the way in to the awards and she didn't look comfortable or happy.

She didn't wear tents with her first child, so I have to wonder whether this is sort of a costume-y 1960's thing related to her nomination or is there some other reason she feels compelled to cover herself in these stiff tent like garments. I remember the lovely pink dress she wore with her last child. I wasn't a fan of the giant red flower, but the rest of the look was gorgeous.

This award season has reminded me of the year she won everything for Black Swan--when she was pregnant and complaining about miserable and fat she was.

Erm, yes, and during this awards season it's particularly noticeable. Maybe this pregnancy is harder on her than the last one. And campaigning while pregnant can't be that much fun.
Or maybe it's that I just can't stand her and see smugness every time there's a pic of her ;-)

She pulled out of an Israeli award ceremony:

Portman’s representative said: “[R]ecent events in Israel have been extremely distressing to her and she does not feel comfortable participating in any public events in Israel” and that “she cannot in good conscience move forward with the ceremony”.

No specific events were mentioned, but the recent military response to Palestinian demonstrations on the Gaza-Israel border has provoked worldwide condemnation.

The move drew swift condemnation from Israel’s governing Likud party. Knesset member Oren Hazan demanded authorities revoke her citizenship while the culture minister, Miri Regev, referring to the Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions campaign, claimed she had “fallen like ripe fruit into the hands of BDS supporters.”

Pretty ballsy. I have to say, Ms. Portman used to be on the level of GOOP for me in terms of celebrities I couldn't stand, but between this and some of her comments on the #MeToo movement I'm really turning around on her.
