I don't think I batted an eye at this one at the time either. (Or any of those other mid-30s famous guys dating very young starlets.) Times have changed so much in 20 years.

Also, I was pretty close to Natalie's age at that time when and that type of relationship probably seemed exciting and glamorous to me.

I do think it's a very good thing that Natalie is coming out and articulating publicly how wrong a lot of the stuff that went on in her life was during her Star Wars era. She was an icon and people talked about her like she was this prize to be coveted. It seemed cool at the time, but now...blech.

ETA: Moby posted an instagram essentially calling Natalie a liar. To prove that they "dated", he posted a photo of himself shirtless with his arm around a very young, awkwardly smiling Natalie. Instagram Natalie's wearing a Milk Fed t-shirt so that was definitely from the late 90's or very early 2000's. So gross.

I feel like there should be a word for these guys who come out with what they think are AIR TIGHT defenses that actually just corroborate his accuser's story. Just like Tom Brokaw.

And he said they dated in 1999, which contradicts his book and proves Natalie was telling the truth that she was only 18.

Sadly,young looking college freshman attract their fare share of creepy middle aged men. I looked 16 at most when I turned 18. Middle aged married men were the worst.

Moby is a gross dude, he's also a huge player and has been for a long time (I've heard rumors about him spreading STDs because he refuses to use condoms.) I fully believe Natalie on this.

Ew all around. He clearly doesn't understand at all that even if they did 'for real date' (and his opinion on that is at best 50% dispositive sooooo whatever), it was still a creepy and imbalanced relationship.

I haven't thought about moby in over 15 years, but I think he's proven to the world he's an inappropriate sharer, so it's not surprising that he was inappropriate with boundaries when he was "hanging out with" a young natalie portman. Screw him.

He's always given me creepy vibes. I remember watching Senor Moby's House of Music and he would never look at the camera. His eyes would just wander all over.

This autobiography seems to be a brag book about his many young conquests a la Anthony Kiedis. Except Kiedis is up front about being a sleaze, whereas Moby hides it by presenting himself as a sensitive bald vegan "nerd". He's probably lured in a lot of girls that way.
