Somewhat off topic. I have friends who are actors. He's much more famous than his wife. They met as children and are soulmates. When he got on a hot show, his agent-- who'd vote for Obama a 3rd time if he could-- told my friend (at a premiere party no less), that he needed to dump her because it was a "bad look" for him. The agent said it without malice, and like it wasn't a big deal.
The guy is white and very attractive. The girl is black in super curvy. My girlfriend talks about the faux liberal "elites" in Hollywood all the time. They vote liberal and donate to liberal causes, but nothing about their lifestyle is inclusive or open-minded. They're only interested in you if you're attractive, have hit a certain level of success, and are good enough for their ego.
I think it's why some folks in LA are salty/catty about Meghan Markle. She didn't tick enough boxes for them, and now she's a duchess. It's the same mindset-- the ultimate power play. I think folks in LA lack any self-awareness and would be shocked if you called them out on their behavior.
Back on topic, I see Moby's apologized.

I think folks in LA lack any self-awareness and would be shocked if you called them out on their behavior. Different area, but it's this same dynamic that allowed Felicity Huffman to champion liberal causes and think nothing of paying to snatch a college spot away from a more deserving kid. At least her apology seemed genuine. Lori Loughlin seems too far gone and entitled to genuinely grasp what she did was wrong. But she also seems like she'd only be into politics if it involved getting her picture made rubbing shoulders with the fanciest of the fancy. Speaking of genuine apologies, Moby's was not.

It's really a shame because it looks like if it were lined it would be really beautiful.

I think the cape is meant to be the focal point. It’s embroidered with the names of female directors snubbed for Oscar noms.

While I (kinda) understand the sentiment: 1: pretentious as f^ck. 2: Maybe if that's your cause make the embroidering big enough for a human being to actually, I don't know, see.

I think the cape is meant to be the focal point. It’s embroidered with the names of female directors snubbed for Oscar noms. What a shallow gesture. Natalie owns her own production company that’s produced 7 films. Guess how many female directors have worked under that banner? Exactly one: Natalie Portman, A Tale of Love and Darkness. She’s in a perfect position to actually do something to give women directors opportunities in the business but the cape is pretty.

She has always gotten on my nerves but I feel like she’s been more bearable the last few years. I don’t even mind the cape even though it’s pretentious. I actually appreciate the gesture (although if she does have a production company and could give female directors more opportunity, I can see where the gesture could be seen as hollow.) I still don’t get everyone’s obsession with her though. She has always come across as a wooden actress to me.
