Country's music's golden gal - and far right Christian - is going through a pretty messy divorce. It is so shocking because Sara has always been a poster girl for "family values" and seemed to have such a stable marriage.

I'm totally shocked by this. Is anyone else following this story?

I really don't know much about her or her husband, but I'm not really all that surprised. It always seems like the ones who scream the loudest about how "wrong" some things or some people are or are ultra conservative are usually the ones who have got some serious kinks themselves (I'm not talking so much about Sara as I am her husband).

I actually feel badly for her. I don't agree with her politics, but I think she is a well-meaning wife and mother. Considering what a vocal proponent of marriage and family she has been, it must be so humiliating and difficult for her to come forward with this. I have always really liked her. Her husband sounds like a creep.

But of course, you never really know what is going in any relationship or divorce.

Yep so far it seems like a repeat of what that Star Trek actress went through a couple of years ago.

I know nothing of this woman (just googled her) but "Suds in the Bucket" and "Backseat of a Greyhound Bus" I have to hear what these songs sound like.

She's been on Dancing with the Stars, and apparently at the beginning of the show Tom Delay started an email campaign to get her votes - seeing as she is so wholesome and Republican (gack).

Anyway, it's listed in the court papers that her husband would not allow the "sodomites!" into the house when she needed a costume fitting. Did he really think that if she competed in ballroom dancing that she wouldn't run across gay men?

Her dancing sucked, yet she was never in the bottom two. But now she's quitting because of the scandal.

Saran was a rotten dancer and should have been voted off the show. However, I wonder how anyone could focus on dancing when they were going through such a bad time. Her husband's bad behavior is not her fault. My girlfriend was married to a drunk for 5 years - he embarrassed her too many times to count, wasted their money in bars, lost job after job. None of his conduct was a reflection on my friend - I feel the same about Sara even though I don't know her. I'm not a fan of her music either.

She is lucky to have enough money to be able to see a future for herself and her kids without worrying about getting support from him. I applaud Sara for taking this step in divorcing her husband, I get the impression that she wanted to work it out, but the situation simply became unbearable. I hope Sara and her three little ones are able to put this behind them - according to the court papers, her 7 year old broke out in hives when the "sodomite" came to the house. At this point, I think Sara will put aside everything to focus on the emotional health and well-being of her children.

december, I think that Sara included that in her motion for divorce as a way of saying how badly her children were affected by their father's lunatic ravings. I truly do not think it was meant that the child broke out in hives upon seeing someone. Sara is afraid that her children will be emotionally harmed if they continue to reside with their father - she was providing an example of the type of negative atmosphere the father creates.

Their little boy kept hearing the father ranting about a "sodomite" coming to their house - the child probably doesn't even know what that means, he only knows that his dadddy is saying someone bad is coming to the house. The child was probably terrified and that's what caused the hives.

At least that's the way I understand it.

Suds isn't bad, but Greyhound really annoyed me. It makes it sound like teen pregnancy will be solved by seeing your baby and falling in love with it. You're still a teen with no job or education, kid.

I listen to country radio and every time Dancing With the Stars came up the djs were telling us to vote for her. I never saw her dance or even move much in her videos. I gather there's a reason.

Seriously, somone needs to come up with a test kit, so that women can identify -- before they marry or reproduce with an asshat -- if the guy has hidden anger problems, or substance problems, or right-wing whackjob or porn addict problems.

That'd be a great way to become independently wealthy!
