In a word, no.

Why people expect her to be some kind of cyborg, as if she doesn't have the RIGHT to feel hurt or slighted, I don't know. Whoopi's not running off at the mouth, a la Aretha Franklin. Okay, they showed her nomination and win - guess what? They should have! She made history with her Oscar win! But she ALSO made history as an Oscar host - good, bad or other. The first solo female host. The first solo black host. If Steve Martin isn't insulted by not being highlighted as the 80 gajillionth white male host of the Academy Awards, good for him. What does that have to do with Whoopi Goldberg?

Whoopi was actually a pretty good Oscar host. She's not as good as Steve Martin, but certainly more palatable than Billy Crystal, who hasn't been remotely amusing since City Slickers. She might not be the most revolutionary host, but makes herself a figure of fun as much as any of the attendees, and I never dozed through her shows as I am wont to do now.
I mean, I like Jon Stewart, but he's too cool for school. I actually felt really sorry for the president of AMPAS presenting the light-hearted look at ballot counting when Stewart started snickering after the guy left the stage.
Similarly, I love Chris Rock. His bit interviewing people at the Magic Johnson Theatre about which Oscar nominees they saw was hilarious. But his "why has Jude Law been in every second movie released this year? And who is he, anyway?" speech (grain of truth though it had, in my opinion) sank, as he seriously misread the audience.

Oh yeah, that was what I found strange about the Jude Law joke as well....while it might have been true at some point it was a strange thing to say about someone who at the time was already a two time Oscar nominee and had worked with a lot of people in the audience. Topic? Whoopi has every right to voice her disappointment if it was a montage about Oscar hosts. She was good (better than Crystal or Rock) and since not exactly many women get to host the oscars it would have been nice to see her there.

Based on the link provided, the issue was just another topic of discussion on The View that someone else raised. I don't see this as a case of Whoopi whining. I thought she was fine as host and since they probably won't ask her to host again, I wish Conan O'Brien would host instead of the unfunny Steve Martin, Billy Crystal, Jon Stewart or Chris Rock.

She certainly wasn't my favorite host but I understand her being hurt by the exclusion. I would be too as after all that was a huge deal.
Sounds like the Academy blew it on lots of ends this year.

WG hosting the Oscars may have been historic, but she wasn't good (and I used to love her; I was rooting for her to succeed). The Elizabeth I bit was the ONLY funny thing I remember from her that night.

I thought she was great as the 2002 host at the first post 9/11 Oscars. I was ready to switch off after Tom Cruise smugly opened the show declaring movies more important than ever. Then came Whoopi all dressed up in Kidman's glittery Moulin Rouge outfit.

I thought she was painfully unfunny at her Oscar hosting gig. The "white-face" thing she pulled for Elizabeth was absolutely cringe-worthy.
As for whether or not it's outrageous that she was omitted from that montage (at least omitted as a host) I guess I don't really care. Who even remembers these things a couple (or even 1 year) later.

Nope. She didn't whine about it at all. I think it was Elizabeth that brought it up, and the other hosts were more angry than Whoppi. You could tell she was a little upset (I would have been too), but she really didn't make a big deal about it.
I think it was kinda tacky that they didn't show her or Steve Martin. I actually liked them both as hosts.
