That is part of the reason that I heart him. He is probably the most affable musical superstar out there.

I have a friend who carries a copy of an autograph from him that she was given by a friend. Apparently he was the nicest guy when giving it to the friend, and was even joking about it during the autograph.

I love him because not only is he kind and hilarious, but he grew up in my neck of the woods--and lived in NoVA for ages after he was famous, and still visits here a lot. I'm positive I've seen him at Safeway a couple of times.

I lived in NoVA for years before moving to England (Mr eso is from Fairfax,) and we met him at the 930 Club. I think he's part owner of the Black Cat and he's always around the DC area.

Dave fell off the stage in Sweden and broke his leg...then came back and finished the show.

he fell during just the second song of the set, told the audience to hang tight and that he would return, and sure enough after he got patched up he came back and finished the show in a cast.

He's kinda awesome.
