Damn is right. When I broke my ankle it was only a hairline fracture, I was in agony and could barely walk. And he did a whole concert on that? That is freaking bad-ass.

I can only assume he was working off adrenaline. I broke my ankle & not only was it excruciating, I had to be medicated out my mind and it spiked my blood pressure to dangerous levels.

My broken hip was misidentified as a bad sprain/bone bruise, and I walked around for six weeks in agony before going in for a second opinion. I bow to Dave's dedication to his fans--and if you ever get a chance to see the Foo Fighters in person, grab it. They are amazing in concert.

Damn! Love Dave and admire his resilience, but I wish they wouldn't have let him out back there to finish the concert. He could have seriously fucked up his leg even more.
I have to say, the most LOL thing he did (fairly) recently was cosplay the drummer from Rush in a set dedicated to that band when they were inducted into the RR Hall of Fame. Hilarious.

I saw them and Weezer while on a business trip in Dallas about 10 years ago, and it was amazing.

Once again Dave Grohl proves he is 1000% more Badass than most ordinary humans.

Dave is one of the few celebrities that I'd be truly devastated to hear something crush-killing about, I've loved him for about 20 years now. Stay awesome Dave!
Back to the topic at hand, if I had a throne that awesome when I broke my leg I'dve never gotten off of that thing.

Love him. So here are my two Dave Grohl stories;
1. When I was in high school the big deal was "OMG the drummer for Nirvana went to high school here!" He got kicked out of my high school (D'oh!) but according some of the teachers we shared (Algebra) he was a nice, memorable kid, he just went through a rough time and made a dumb mistake (pot) that got him into trouble.
2. My friend LOVES him, like LOVES him. And for years he and his wife lived in Northern Virginia full time (and he's here a lot, look DC CAN produce cool funny people! We don't all have sticks up our asses). So her work friend ran into him at Safeway in Alexandria, and got an autograph for my friend. She has it laminated and carries a copy of it at all times. According to the friend, he was flattered to be approached, and was hands down the nicest guy about it. The autograph is hilarious (he told my friend to stop stalking him "just kidding").
In my opinion the guy is enormously talented and very funny. Add to that he seems to get that he was lucky to get discovered, and to do what he loves for a living, so he appreciates that people are fans and gives back. I mean he (sadly) no longer lives in the area, but again he's here all the time, and really does have a stake in the community.
