IN YO' FACE!!!!! Matthew Knowles!!!!! IN YO' FACE!!!!!!
Not everything gets trampled by the Knowles Industrial Machine in favor of The Largely Overrated and Talentless Golden Child.
Sometimes people who put in the work and have the talent WIN!! over the people who rely on hype and intimidation!!!!
Hear that! Change you evil ways!!!!

Hm. How so? I am not trying to be rude in the slightest, but I am a professional and classically trained singer, and I think her voice sounds full, healthy and well-trained. Maybe the word is not techinical, but her singing is not that great. She sings the same as Fantasia and I don't see people tripping over themselves to buy her material. I mean when you actually listen to AIATY on the soundtrack or played on the radio - the words are jumbled together and not very clear. She has a big voice but you don't actually hear what she's singing.

Hope she has a good management team to help her capitalize on the Oscar win. (Or a year to two from now we'll see her "album" in the bargin bin at Walmart and she'll be billed as "starring Oscar winner Jennifer Hudson as Laquita" in the next Tyler Perry movie.)
Not trying to rain on her parade, I'm just saying...

I think Jennifer's biggest problem, even assuming she's a major acting talent, is that there just aren't that many roles being written for a chubby black (or any color, really) girl.

If her career tanks now it won't necessarily be because of lack of talent or effort -- it is because Hollywood is not the most welcoming place chubby black actresses.

Hopefully Broadway is and she can work there. She has a perfect voice for those shows where you have to belt it out to the back row.

I'm glad for her sake that a relative unknown can still pull off a win in Hollywood, and Hudson is undeniably talented, but I thought I detected a wee bit of a sneer starting to creep in last night, and she seems much less likable lately. I hope she's not starting to believe the hype.

I think that the jacket that she wore last night on the red carpet was from a Jiffy Pop container. Maybe it was cold in LA?

With those ill-composed pictures and the pictures of the Crazy Cruise family, Annie Leibowitz has really fallen in my eyes. I'm just seeing the Vogue pictures. There is no need or excuse for this, especially from a big-name photographer.

I think it's because Fantasia just isn't that pretty. Shallow, I know.
Also, IMO Hollywood is more accepting of larger black women than larger women of any other color.
