I don't know, guys...(puts on flame-retardent suit)...people liked her a week ago when she was the big ingenue who had her big break. Now, all the sudden, she's a diva? That sounds like people turning against a local band when they get their first big deal, because they're "sellouts".

She's completely justified in her dislike of AI. IMO, it's turned into a dive vehicle for crap-ass singers. I wouldn't rah-rah it. It's an overpriced HS talent show. Plus, hey? How do we know she didn't pull up in the limo to take her auntie for a spin or something? We don't. And, hell, if I'd hit it big, you know I'd be rolling into my old neighborhood in something nice. Why not? Is she supposed to act like I'm eternally broke, or ghetto, or whatever? If she was cruising around slowly, making sure to honk the horn, that's obnoxious. Being driven somewhere isn't.

I try to watch out for something real before I dislike someone; her becoming acclimated to success and not acting like a shiny rube isn't a reason. People are going to look at the smallest things that she does because her success is so unexpected and grand- and there's something in many people that likes to see great successes shot down. I'm not saying that about you guys, but that could be the case in the magazine. Tabs will do that.

Watch out - if/when she wins that Oscar the backlash will increase ten fold. People will be jumping off the bandwagon like lemmings over a cliff.

It's a sign that a person has become "too popular". It will now become the cool thing to think Jennifer's a diva and not all that great. Nothing more fun than building someone up just so that they can be torn back down.

I'm not invested one way or the other. I don't watch AI and I haven't seen Dreamgirls. I was predisposed to like her if only because AI didn't and she has talent. But, I've been watching her media persona evolve and I noticed that there was something different about her persona at an interview last week than the first several times I saw her interview. I couldn't and can't put my finger on what it was, but it did not make her more likable.

Chances are it won't. She's got to start playing the game. JHud can't be the newbie sweetheart now. She'll look clueless. I'm thinking that she'll need to some time to balance out, which will probably mean a couple of incidents of bad behavior. I hope that her fame/modesty pendulum won't stay stuck in bitch mode like JLo's, though! ;D

I could see her winning the Oscar and then never getting any work again, a la Louise Fletcher.

One positive thing that I've noticed is that the media seems to be mostly praising her look instead of taking the typical "OMG what a big fat cow" approach they usually do with any female who's not thin.

Actually, I think she had the 'tude back even when she was on AI. I didn't like it then, and it sounds like there are people who are noticing it and not liking it now.

She had a powerful voice on AI, but her sound just wasn't to my taste. If I remember correctly, when she was booted off, there was an uproar, with people (Elton John?) calling racism and all sorts of abominal reasons why she was the one to go that night (which was absolutely ridiculous). But yeah, there was reason why she thought she was All That And More. I thought Blech blech blech.

Having said that, I think that 'tude was perfect for her role in the movie, and her voice was perfect for that role in the movie. I think she looks gorgeous in her mag covers (yes, I loved that windblown look, but the inner photo.....I don't go for the droopy you-know-what look. She needs support there!), and I love that, as Ivy pointed out, everyone is appreciating her look and not making size an issue. I wish her all the best, and I hope that she doesn't blow it by letting her head swell any bigger than what fits with her body.

I forgot to add that Annie Leibowitz deserves to be shot. I think that woman has decided to work for Satan. First the Suri shoot, and then this crappy one? I guess she thinks her name is enough

She had diva written all over her when she was on AI, so I'm not surprised if it's starting to resurface now.

She better watch herself...the road is strewn with Best Supporting Actors and Actresses who never lived up to that kind of attention again. Haing S. Ngor, Linda Hunt...the list goes on and on.
