So sad to hear about on Christmas. Definately one of the hardest working men in the biz. RIP, Soulman.

"Yow! Papa's got a brand new bag!"
twirls around and does the splits
The band leader on David Letterman (Paul whatshisname) does an homage to James Brown where he sings and when the song is over, drained and exhausted, he is led off the stage by someone with a cape. Yet, everytime that the fake James Brown is near to being led off the stage, he twirls and turns and runs back to the center of the stage and sings another energetic chorus of his song. Then drained, again, he is covered with his cape and led off the stage. This pattern just goes on and on.
Always thought that Mr. Brown would go on and on too. When he performed, he was inexhaustible and always willing to give that last ounce of energy to make the show for the audience.
I'll be watching David Letterman for the next few nights. They have got to perform this tribute to Mr. Brown.

"Say It Loud!!"
"I'm Black and I'm Proud!!!"
He did so much for the Black folks of America with that song. He was a civil rights leader, a true musical genius and the most copied R&B entertainer ever. Everyone from Prince to Michael Jackson to Usher and Justin Timberlake owes this man for copying his moves and style.
RIP Godfather.

Not what I wanted to hear first thing this Christmas morning.
Drink one down or eat on up for the Godfather, y'all.
