I don't mind Julia in movies - I think she is a decent enough actress.
But I cannot stand is that she's "America's Sweetheart" our "Pretty Woman" and we should all be so please that she's a mother now, but in reality she is such a vile, nasty person. The whole "A Low Vera" thing was just sooo tacky and tasteless.
I always gage people on how they treat "underlings" or people in the service industry (clerks in stores, wait staff in restaurants, etc.) and I've never heard a story where she walked into a store or restaurant and was pleasant. I've only heard stories about how she is rude and nasty. I mean, I'm no fan of Tom Cruise (the control freak, scientology stuff turns me off), but I have never heard of him being a jerk to a waiter or a clerk - just the opposite, in fact, so he gets ranked above Julia.
And really, why so unhappy, Julia? You've got more money than God, some spawn, and a lovely husband you successfully stole from another woman. Why must you take your bitterness out on the service industry? And you know, if you just gave them that million-watt smile and cooed some requests at them, they would fall all over themselves to serve you.

Oh I really like Julia, she seems like such a good person. However, I think the enormous fame has made her more self centered, in way that is very similar to Oprah. I still like them both, but can see where they rub people the wrong way.
The Oscars is a popularity contest, it's all political at this point.
I forgot about thatl ow vera t-shirt situation. That was below the belt and very tacky. I had heard that Vera made Julia buy her out of the marriage, that's why you don't hear from her and it cost Julia a lot of money.

I have paid to see most of her movies in the theatres, so I'm not exactly a full on hater... but she comes off as smug and thoroughly unlikeable IRL. And though I haven't any real proof aside from the A Low Vera thing, she sure sets my bitchdar to pinging.

Fug Julia is nothing more than a common egomaniac who set her sights on a married man. She's as STUPID AS BRITNEY!!! What makes her think this loser (though at least he does have a job) is gonna stick it out w her when he bailed on his wife when this overrated movie star came a knocking? I have NEVER paid to see one of her movies and I won't now for sure! Hell, she must be something else if even Steven Speilberg says (publically) he won't work w her again. Bitch!

What? What? Speilberg said he wouldn't work with her? I must have missed it. What was that about?

If I were Vera I'd do it. Whether I still loved him or wanted him, I'd take the opportunity to be paid big to shut me up. That's the price of fame.

What? What? Speilberg said he wouldn't work with her? I must have missed it. What was that about? She played Tinkerbell (and a DAMN FUGLY ONE AT THAT) in Speilberg's "Hook" (w Dustin Hoffman in the lead). Afterwards, in several interviews, SS said he would not work w Julia again. He's a gentleman and didn't elaborate other than to say that she was very demanding and degrading to the other actors and that she held up production more than once. He capped it off in one interview by simply stating, "we have different work ethics."

She did Hook at the height of her suddenly-famous, druggy, Kiefer Sutherland, nervous-breakdown period. She got her shit together after that, but I remember her saying *she* would never work with Spielberg because he betrayed her to the press.

Angel -- Talk about managing to piss off a Hollywood heavyweight like Speilberg... What makes it stranger is that (from checking IMDB) this was just after the period where she suddenly dropped out of sight for a couple years, right when she was red-hot. I remember people wondering what was going on with her. For all she knew, the public could have completely lost interest in her; in her shoes, I would have been sweet as pie!

I have to hand it to Ghoulia, she cries prettier than anyone else. No red eyes, no puffiness, no snot coming out the nose, no bawling like a sick calf. Just gentle, ladylike, perfectly-formed tears. And maybe a sniffle or two, if she's really distraught. But glowing seraphically all the while. I think the Actors Studio has a course entitled "Lachryma Julia."
If wish she'd learn to walk in heels. When she clip-clopped out to present at the last Oscars, was anyone else singing the Budweiser song? Here comes the king, here comes the big number one...
