She played Tinkerbell (and a DAMN FUGLY ONE AT THAT) in Speilberg's "Hook" (w Dustin Hoffman in the lead). Afterwards, in several interviews, SS said he would not work w Julia again. He's a gentleman and didn't elaborate other than to say that she was very demanding and degrading to the other actors and that she held up production more than once. He capped it off in one interview by simply stating, "we have different work ethics." Wow, I never heard that one. Not really all that surprised, but I wonder how she managed to come out with the image she did? Must be good PR and management working for her. Any details on what she actually did?

I'm not a big fan of Julia and I can't stand Spielberg, but I think this was probably one of those situations where there was truth to both sides: Julia was probably acting out her personal issues with boyfriends and fame by being pissy and immature, and Spielberg wasn't getting his usual ass-kissing and didn't know how to handle it. I would even give Julia the bulk of the sympathy in the situation since she was really young at the time (and come on - how much did we fuck up at work in our twenties?? without the whole world watching!) and it was shitty of Spielberg to take it to the press.
That said, she is smug and self-centered as all getout, without much reason to be. She's even less talented as an actress than Jennifer Aniston! The only damn reason she has a career at all is that megawatt sparkle-n-smile. Good for her, yay capitalism and all that, but it certainly doesn't give her the right to swan around at the Oscars as if she belonged there, nor to write sickeningly gushy letters about her new children to Oprah for the express purpose of famewhoring her motherhood and then act as if she's just regular-folks. Blech.

What was this? I like Julia pretty well. She doesn't repel me from movies, but I don’t necessarily flock to something just because she’s in it…

Hate her. Absolutely hate her. It's all about her. From draping her arms around Denzel and refusing to let go during his Oscar moment to her stupid shoutout to Marva. Lame.

Ugh. Just...ugh. (Although I LOVE her Oscar gowns).
My mother saw an interview with her years ago for a movie she was making with Catherine Zeta Jones (can't remember the name). And basically, the whole time, Julia was being really obnoxious, flirting with the interviewer, draping her arms around him, just being a pain in the ass. Finally CZJ turned around, looked at her, and said pointedly, "Aren't we supposed to be discussing the movie?"
I mean, I'm no fan of CZJ's attitude, either, but Julia's just plain annoying.

America's Sweethearts. Topic? I cannot stand this woman. She looks like a horse and I hate how everything must be about her. I damn near vomited when she was slobbering all over Denzel. She can't act worth a damn and how she ended up as America's Sweetheart is beyond me.

I hope she didn't bust into Speilberg's office and jump on his desk.

So I have a friend at work that has quite a few contacts in Hollywood and apparently our horse face is pretty close to evil genus level, intelligence wise. ... I only bring this up because while she never seems lacking in intelligence or like she feels the need to overcompensate for insecurity about her intelligence by hauling out the OED in every interview (*cough* I'm talking to YOU Ashley Judd and Fishstick), I don't get super brain either.
Does anyone have any more insight? I didn’t to ask too many questions at work lest they suspect how I spend my ‘free’ time on the computer.
