I'm having problems finding an article or quote because stuff about the case keeps popping up, but didn't Wynonna give an interview years back saying that she was molested by someone at an early age? I remember in the interview she refused to talk about who it was, but that she dealt with it in therapy around the time that she was busted for that DUI.
ETA: Aha-- I found a link referencing all of this...
ETA2: Gah! Whenever I cut the link into this post it takes me to another site. Well, anyway, apparently she talks about it in her autobiography, Coming Home to Myself-- she was molested, she plans to confront the person that molested her.

No thread for Naomi, so I'll just leave this here because it probably won't create much chatter anyway. It also concerns Wynonna so I guess this is as good a place as any. So sad. I had no idea. She doesn't look well. Lots of skeletons in those closets. |

And there's never a time when the entire threesome is all on good terms. They rotate which of the two are going to be fighting/estranged.

I watched some of Naomi and Wynonna's reality show that was on OWN several years ago. My takeaway? While Wynonna certainly isn't a faultless saint, Naomi is a manipulative, drama queening psycho. Wynonna and Ashley both deserve some leeway, because it could not have been easy to have been raised by her. If Naomi has actually been suffering from severe depression, then I hope she recovers, but I can't say I'm not skeptical. It's been a few years since she's gotten any public attention.

I'm guessing that Wynonna needs a long break from her, because I get the feeling she was doing a lot of the parenting along the way.

Naomi was so messed up. However, what she did to Wynonna is beyond the pale. In her suicide note she banned Wynonna from her funeral because 'she's mentally ill'. Ashley was at her house when she committed suicide and Ashley was the one to find her.
I lived in Ashland Ky for a few years so I ran into a lot of people who knew Naomi. May she rest in peace.

I went to a "Wait, Wait, Don't Tell Me" recording where Wynonna was the guest. This was before Naomi died. Woooeeee, Wynonna was not in very good form that day. Peter Sagal was just asking her a normal question and she just WENT OFF on Naomi and Ashley. He had not brought up their difficult relationship at all. It was more, "How you got your start in the music business and look at what a success you are now" kind of question. It was pretty uncomfortable.
Anyway, in the edit for broadcast, they did an admirable job of making her seem happy and well-balanced.
