So the new album has leaked (allegedly.....)
I like some of it...and some has yet to grow on me. The lyrics do seem to be a bit meandering....part of me can see why Sony balked.
Yet, an album on store shelves usually sells more than one that isn't.

I read somewhere they were both major coke heads. Fiona is not a coke-head. Pot-head, perhaps. But not coke.

Well, I've downloaded some of these leaked songs, and yes, they're excellent!
Perhaps she could buy back the master tapes and take the album to another label. Is that an option?

I hear BVoM is track 4/11...
I just did a search for her, and lo! I really didn't know anything about her for a while, except that my sister bought the Criminal single, which was good. I somehow heard about Extraordinary Machine being leaked, and for some reason I got curious. It's a really phenomenal album (in my opinion). I see how it may not be for everyone, but it's so interesting and different and pleasant to listen to. What I really like are the lyrics to these songs. They seem to have a lot of meaning, and I find myself impressed by her way with words, but also with the sense of humor and irony she can protray really well. In that sense, she is ahead of her time.
That being said, I'm only mildly surprised that it was shelved by Sony. The album is very different, but I think it is marketable. She has hardcore fans, and this is one I would go out and buy the day it came out.
I just don't understand how this could be shelved while crap like Bjork (sorry, I just don't see her talent...a few of her songs are tolerable, but no...) comes out to rave reviews.
I really hope it comes out eventually, I'd love to hear it legit and see how it is received.
When I went on a Fiona binge, I heard the rest of her songs and I do enjoy a lot of the other ones as well. Very good artist, if not a little angsty for my taste!
I like the Beatles, but for me, her version of Across the Universe is far superior. That's quite a feat!

One of my favorite singers ever. Love her 1st and 2nd albums, and I'm loving the newest one. Her version of "Across the Universe" rules.

I'm glad someone else replied to this thread so I can talk more about it. LOL.
I LOVE this CD. I was a bit lukewarm on it (some parts of it) earlier...but it's grown on me. The lyrics are sinking in. I do wish it to be released eventually one day.

The word on the inside is that it is Fiona who is holding up release of the album, not Sony.

I really like it, some parts are almost Wilco-esque with the piano. I think its insane they refused to release it- she has tons of fans who would buy it without a radio single.
