There was an interview in the New York Times last week where she explained that for the last five years she did nothing but sit in her backyard and carve little people out of pine cones with a razor. And she meant that she truly did nothing else and that is how she spent her time. She said she was infuriated that the people around her did not understand she was "working."

She sounds like the highest maintenance friend you could ever have.

yeah, the pine cone people thing is weird. BUt who cares what she does, as long as you don't have to support her? I am sure she had enough money from her previous two CDs.

Jon Brion is brilliant and warm and lovely and HE says she is smart and a good friend so... I am prepared to give her the benefit of the doubt.

I know! I'm happy that she's getting over her anorexia. She was starting to get the 'frail old woman' look for a bit-- and her face looks so much better with a little weight.

She does look pretty good - finally looks like a stiff breeze wouldn't knock her over.

I am really digging her new album. I think she is a complete kook, but she's a very talented one.
