But she sounds so much more together than her big sister, who's almost 10 years older than she. Maybe Britney's purpose is to serve as a cautionary whale...

Will this be the incident that finally brings an end to the era of "First Baby Pics!!!" being a tabloid get?
Aside from the circumstances of the pregnancy, the whole thing is so dull. The baby looks ... like a baby. What is so exciting about seeing pictures of this one? And that interview is really insightful. Apparently, the baby needs to be fed and to get plenty of sleep. I wonder if it wears diapers and, if so, if said diapers need to be changed?
I understand that celebrity baby pics, unless they are of the Brangelina Divine Wonder Twins, really aren't a profit center, but are used to boost the image of the tabloid that lands them. Does landing the baby pics of the 16YO sister of a has-been teenypop idol from the turn of the century really boost OK!'s image?

I'm loving the ads that show up on that OK interview:
Hee.
She does sound a lot more together than Brit Brit, but then again, I always thought Jamie had a lot more sense that her sister, anyway.
The "Best Feeling in the World!" headline didn't make me squirm as much as the "the labor was really easy" bullshit. DON'T TELL TEENS THAT, YOU H0R! Ugh.
Because I know that when Mr. Spin and I have kids, it ain't going to be easy.

Was a cover story really necessary? As if teen aged girls don't already have enough sources that glamorize teen pregnancy. I'm glad Jamie Lynn is doing well, but I can't help but wonder about the girls who will see the article and pictures and think it will be just as "easy" to have a baby, except most won't have a fraction of the advantages and benefits as Jamie Lynn does. I just find the whole thing to be in poor taste.

Yeah, nobody mentions to these teenage girls who read this article that being on welfare, WIC, food stamps, Medicare and subsidized housing isn't cool. And if your mom doesn't want to walk the floor with the screaming baby while you sleep or go out somewhere, she's justified. And, there won't be anyone else to hand the kid over to when you're dead on your feet exhausted.

Not only that, but it's only been, what, ONE MONTH?!? Howzibout we check with JL when the kid's 8 or 9 and see how awesome and easy it is.

Judging from the sort of teenage girl I remember being, I think they'd be more likely to get pregnant if OK! told them it was a terrible, awful, very bad thing that's only reserved for grown-ups. Since that's worked so well with smoking, drinking, etc.
Honestly, what's the point of having a national shamefest over this girl?

Considering that this girl has been parading her pregnancy over the tabloid pages for the last six months, I'm seeing the very opposite of a "national shamefest".

But what would be the point of having all the tabloids talk about how terrible she is?
If you're arguing they should ignore her, fine with me. But they should ignore her because she's talentless and boring, and her show was a vapid waste of time that hardly anybody cared about, not because she had a baby. The whole argument is giving her way more importance than she should have to anyone on this earth.

There could at least be a mention of that it's uncommon in our society to have babies as a teenager and be feted for it. That there are difficulties and challenges with being a teen mother, that even JLS will have to deal with, even with fame and fortune*. Not just, "Isn't it great? I'm a mommy!" Ignoring her would be even better.
*possibly sarcastic. I'm not sure how much fame/fortune she has.
