I think part of the reason I liked this film is that it was unapologetic about the characters being a bit sleazy. Maybe in the same way that I liked Seinfeld - those characters were self-centered jerks who didn't care about the way their actions really affected other people. These guys aren't so much jerks as immature. And funny. I can understaned why some may not find this film their cup of tea, but for the same reason that they dislike it, I really like it.

I also thought it was hilarious. I think my complete obsession with Vince Vaughn (which began when I first saw Swingers and fell in love) and Owen Wilson (who I think is totally hot, even though apparently he likes to lick asses) made me want to see it even more. Of course, the commercial where they introduce themselves with "Irish" names and Owen says "I'm ready to get DRUNK" makes SuperJason and I laugh uproariously.
Then there's the fact that my sense of humour is generally equated with that of a 14-year old boy. And Owen looks like my ex-boyfriend who was awesome.

I think someone wrote it in during a celebrity sighting e-mail and then adopted it and ran with it.
I liked the movie a lot. I thought it was hilarious. It isn't the best comedy of our time but I enjoyed how unabashadly scheming the characters were and the movie wasn't afraid to let it get a little dirty.
Vaughn was hilarious in this film. He made the movie, IMO. I like Wilson but he plays the straight man pretty well and Vaughn is great when he's able to let loose. Though sometimes I suspect that Vaughn wasn't really "acting" so much in this role, but thats beside the point.

I thought the movie was terrible, and I agree with the others that the premise was revolting.

Not pointless at all because I enjoyed the deconstruction, and I am sure I was not the only one. I loved the movie. I don't need my main characters to always be perfect and bland- give me motor mouth Vince Vaughn anyday. What I loved the most about this movie is that you could tell that they were just making crap up sometimes- and it was funny.
But I posted over at FT longe enough to know that not everyone likes everything. We can agree to disagree without being hateful. After all, its Wedding Crashers for heaven's sake, not Last Temptation of Christ.

Thank you for that! Who ever thought THIS movie would provoke such polarized, vehement emotions?

Yes, but imagine the crossover.
Not usually my type of humor, but I dug it anyway. I think the movie itself doesn't exactly praise the guys' behavior from the start (i.e. do you think we're being sleazy/we're not that young). My like of Vince Vaughn just increased tenfold. And I so want Rachel McAdams for my beard -- and her dark hair was to die for. Gedditt? Dye?
But for me the biggest surprise was seeing Bradley Cooper be such a jackhole. Will Cooper, we never knew ye.

Heehee! The Last Temptation of the Wedding Crashers. Tired of the same old modern nuptials, Vince and Owen time travel to crash an ancient wedding, but miscalculate the time and place and accidentally get confused with the two criminals to be crucified with Christ. Hilarity and bloodshed ensues. Now THAT'S a movie I'd see!
