I'll be puttering around doing nothing and then I'll get the image of Vince Vaughn walking along with that painting under his arm and I cannot stop laughing.

Darn, how did I forget the obvious Mary Magdalene joke?
So my friend told me that John McCain had a cameo, but I completely missed it. Anyone see him?

Saw it last night. Loved it. Then again, that could just be because I heart Vince Vaughn and everything that comes out of his mouth cracks me up.

I was also not too thrilled with the premise--the trailer just pissed me off, but I saw it yesterday and it was funny. It still starts out sort of sleazy but I have to agree with some of the other posters that the guys sort of start shedding that persona pretty quickly. At the risk of pissing everyone off I don't think their behavior is that far removed from reality for a lot of late twentysomething guys and some girls too. Lots of drinking and sex.
"That's what we call a Sack lunch, mm, mm, mm." That just makes me laugh and laugh and laugh.

I saw it yesterday. I thought the premise was incredibly dumb, but Vince Vaughn was funny enough to make up for it. I see many movies with stupid plots that are just Vaughn-vehicles in the future. Rachel McAdams was another bright spot, too.
huntergrayson, I don't recall seeing him, but I wasn't looking for him either. I was pretty meh about Will Ferrell's cameo, though.

His cameo was at the very beginning of the big wedding that they crashed. He is out front with James Carvelle talking and shaking hands with Christopher Walken. If you blink, you miss him. I can't recall if he even said anything.

I think what suckered me in (beside the hotness of Owen Wilson and some residual hotness of Vince Vaughn) was that yeah, these guys were supposedly there just to bag chicks. BUT- they seemed to really enjoy the weddings. They were hobnobbing with the old guys, giving toasts, dancing, they just really seemed to like weddings. Now, I know that is not very realistic, but I think thats what makes it funny.
ETA: Thanks Dwanollah. I am not the snarkiest of the lot (ie- I do lean toward fangirl eee!!1! love for Jennifer Garner) BUT every once in awhile I will come up w/ something slightly clever.

I've heard people who didn't like the movie mention that they had problems with the way that they felt they were expected to laugh with the crashers and they're shitty treatment of women, rather than at them and they're lameness, and this is what made them not enjoy the movie. Also, I've heard complaints that there are some wince-inducing gay jokes. Was this a problem for people here that didn't enjoy the movie?
I'll probably end up netflix'ing it when it comes out on DVD. Perhaps I will rent Last Temptation... on the same night and compare and contrast...

As a gay man, I don't think that the gay jokes were particularly wince-inducing. It was more along the lines of Rachel McAdam's entire family was completely nuts, including her gay "tortured artiste" younger brother.
As others have mentioned, I think one of the redeeming qualities of the characters is that they sincerely enjoy the weddings and are so happy to be there that the sleazy aspect of it is reduced. The guys' day jobs are divorce mediators or whatever so it gives them some motivation to their enjoyment.
Bradley Cooper looked pretty darn fine in that crew-cut.
Note to all actresses: pale skin and dark hair is stunning, too! Rachel McAdams proves that going blonde is not the answer!
I want to point out that The Philadelphia Story opens with Cary Grant punching Katherine Hepburn in the face. Romantic comedy motivations aren't always so romantic -- the characters are often scheming (Lady Eve anyone?) and deceitful.
