I thought the movie was funny enough, but I don't think it's the funniest movie ever like a lot of people do. There is about half an hour that is so BORING that it makes it hard to rewatch. I really didn't give a crap about either Owen Wilson or Rachel McAdams' characters. As far as I was concerned, there was not nearly enough Christopher Walken or Isla Fisher. They made the movie for me.
Oh yeah, and it's not fun to quote, either. Some movies, like Anchorman--which is SO silly and dumb--are fun to rewatch because the lines are so memorable and are fun to repeat. The only lines from this movie that I find myself repeating are, "'Cause I'd find you!" and "MA! THE MEATLOAF!"

I think this movie is decent but because, for me, the central love story never really gels it becomes really tedious towards the end. I think the real problem is in the character played by Rachel McAdams. McAdams was hilarious in Mean Girls so I know she can do comedy but she had almost nothing to work with in this film. She was just good and nice and conflicted but when compared to Isla Fisher or even Jane Seymour she was just so boring! If they had given her a bit more edge (let her get unknowingly kinky or be a little off kilter like Cameron Diaz in There's Something About Mary or kind of pissed off and bitter like Catherine Keener in The 40 Year Old Virgin or something). Unfortunately, her character wasn't interesting enough to really grab my attention and when the focus of the movie changed from Vince being humiliated/turned on to Owen mourning the loss of his true love, I really lost interest.
It is a shame that the film lost momentum towards the end because the scene where Isla Fisher gives Vince Vaughan a handjob under the table is truly hilarious. Their relationship was far more believable to me than the one between Owen and Rachel.

I just didn't think that Rachel McAdams and Owen Wilson had the chemistry that Vince Vaughn and Isla Fisher had. I wasn't rooting for Rachel and Owen because I had already had enough of them ten minutes in. I agree with ThursdayNext, I would have liked her character to be quirkier. As it was written, she was just "bland stereotypical love interest." And that's not fun to watch!
