Kate's out there singing his praises as a "superhot, superhuman stay-at-home dad" which has the whiff of overcompensating. She told this riveting anecdote about him: That was the entire anecdote. And as per usual, Kate explained why he added "Winslet" to his name, but did not mention the "Wolf" part. She's always been embarrassed about the name thing. That's it? Kate needs to ask him to stop acting like an idiot. See if he'll do that. Also, if that's the best example to show how superhot and superhuman he is, no wonder he needs to screw with his name to be interesting.

Yes I did get the vibe from that interview that there was some ego soothing going on - she was definitely working overdrive to sing his praises. I guess given her career it’s probably just easier to marry a guy who is happy being a house husband or a stay at home dad? He has rich people connections so I’m sure he could land some cushy, decently paying gig if he wanted to.

I can see how this is a nice arrangement for her now when she still has one young child who needs parenting while she's away working. Once that kid's a little older, I think the stay-at-home husband is going to get the heave ho.

Hard to believe she has a daughter in her 20s already. Time flies.

Hard to believe she has a daughter in her 20s already. Time flies. And she’s an actress too. The nepotism.

Kate's parents and sister are also actors so it's a family tradition.
Nepotism isn't going to be enough to overcome the fact that Mia inherited her father's face and gigantic pumpkinhead.

Given Mia has one current credit to her name, it seems an exaggeration to say there’s nepotism involved.

Given Mia has one current credit to her name, it seems an exaggeration to say there’s nepotism involved. First acting job she ever auditioned for - starring role in a movie - and she got it. She's never had any training, she just finished high school and started auditioning and immediately got a job. I would say that is very, very, very extraordinary. Kate tells the same story Aaron Spelling told about Tori - that she didn't use the famous last name, so the casting directors of London had no idea who "Mia Threapleton" was. Sure, Jan.

Lol! I just love it when Hollywood spawn try to claim they achieved their acting dreams through hard work and dedication, and that they took great pains to try to hide their family connections so that they would be judged solely on their own merits. Right.
That being said, I do give Kate credit for allowing her kids to have pretty anonymous childhoods. I think the last time I had seen a photo of Mia prior to this update on her career was probably at least a decade ago, and it would have been a paparazzi shot. I don't recall her ever trotting them out at awards shows or doing glossy spreads to set them up for lives in the public eye.

I did roll my eyes when Kate claimed that Mia can fly under the radar and absolutely no-one knew who she was when she was auditioning for acting gigs.
Both her parents work in the industry and even if Mia isn’t known publicly I’m sure behind the scenes there are plenty of people who knew who her mother is.
