Both her parents work in the industry and even if Mia isn’t known publicly I’m sure behind the scenes there are plenty of people who knew who her mother is. Both of her parents and her former stepfather are all over the UK film industry, which is a small world. And her face is her father's, but there is also a huge physical resemblance to her mother. And how did she get an agent with no experience except through her mother? It's not nepotism, but it is privilege that Mia got to graduate from school and live indefinitely in luxury accommodations while she established a career. This girl is by no stretch of the imagination starting from scratch like other actors.

People who aren't even fans of Kate or Jim know exactly who Mia is, so I'm sure Kate and Jim's work colleagues do too.
Kate is so full of it.

I would have more respect for Kate and other Hollywood parents and spawn if they just said, "yes, I know my child has a leg up due to me, but I'm proud to see her working hard on her projects" Just acknowledge it and move on. "I know I'm lucky because I've learned so much from my mom/dad about the business." Being a celebrity kid might get you in the door but you still have to show up do the work every day.
I haven't seen anything Mia's been in so I can't speak to her skills. The celeb spawn I've most recently been impressed with is Maya Hawke. I think she's really good. I've heard Ethan Hawke talk about her and it's obvious he's a proud dad. She's talented and charismatic like her parents. John David Washington also impresses me.

I loved Lea Thompson’s daughter in Set It Up.

At least Kate's not trying to boost her daughter's career by posing with her on magazine covers a la Catherine Zeta, but discussing her daughter's "under the radar" acting career with Jimmy Kimmel seemed designed to give a little boost.
Most of these kids aren't going to achieve anything significant. They would be so lucky if they were ever to ascend to Kate Hudson's level.

There was another celebrity spawn in Kate's Mare of Easttown that I didn't even know was acting. Sosie Bacon, daughter of Kevin and Kyra Sedgwick, played Mare's grandson's mom.

I loved Lea Thompson’s daughter in Set It Up. Yes! She was great in that and I had no idea who her parents were until after I saw the movie.

They would be so lucky if they were ever to ascend to Kate Hudson's level. Speaking of Kate and nepotism, her brother Wyatt was pretty good as David in The Woman in the Window and in Ingrid Goes West.

As I was reading the comments about Hollywood parents trying to deny the advantages their kids have, Goldie was one who came to mind who really didn't try to deny it. I don't recall her going over the top promoting any of her kids careers - but as Kate was riding the Almost Famous Oscar wave to fame, Goldie was certainly present expressing her pride. Perhaps Kate and others should take note - not denying reality can actually help a kid's career. That also of course depends on the kid having actual talent.
