It wasn't great, but it was predictable and about what I had expected. Very sparkly. SJP was more tanned than I've ever seen her in Abu Dhabi, not a great look for someone so sinewy. WTF was Charlotte wearing for the camel ride? Oy! I must say that Cattrall really keeps her body in shape, or she has great genes. I'm inspired to get back into exercising.
My theater had some laughter at the better jokes, and a bit of applause during Charlotte and Miranda's motherhood discussion. No applause at the end though.

I'm so disappointed. I will take any opportunity to get dressed up and go out on a girls night, but I really don't think I want to go see this. No New York!?! What the hells- part of what I loved about the show was the 5th character. I always hated the episodes where the girls left New York on "adventures". That coupled with the racism/cultural ignorance that seems to be in this film leads me to say no thanks. The most disappointing thing is when I heard Aidan was going to be in this one I was ready to be let down (didn't want another rehash of the whole Carrie, Aidan, Big thing) but this sounds so much worse than I imagined. I think I could have written a better plot.

Oh, get over yourself. Women apparently don't get it either.

I think the problem with the movies is that they are trying to hard, with all the fabulousness and exotic locations. What I liked best about the series was the friendships and the scenes of the women supporting eachother at this restaurant or that shoe store or in the park. I think if they scaled it down and made it about how they are there for each other in New York it could work again.

Oh really Ms. Field, then explain to me how come some of the harshest reviews have been written by women? Like this scathing and hilarious[/color] by Lindy West from Seattle's The Stranger newspaper. Just one of the great lines:

The Movie Spoiler still doesn't have spoiler posted. I was hoping to read that and not waste the money.

From the Lindy West article:
If this actually happens like this in the movie, then it's not just a bad movie, it's seriously offensive. How can the writers/SJP/whoever else was involved in making this movie think that this is in any way acceptable? They really would have been better just sticking to New York.
