I saw it today at the IMAX, and LOVED it! I might have to see it again. Zoe Saldana was rocking the go-go look, and I was just in love with Sulu. Glad to see his combat training came in action.

Clearly I have no personal investment in this movie, but it's so cool to hear about everyone who enjoyed it.

MrHarpofLorien and I saw it last night, and we freakin' LOVED it. It was interesting to see with a mixed audience, generationally speaking. The older people (our age, 50s) got all the fan girl/boy references and laughed a LOT. Younger folks didn't quite seem to get some of it.
And Karl Urban? Who has been one of my celebrity boyfriends since his days as Eomer in LOTR, was fantastic as Bones. He just cracked us up almost everytime he was on screen. Bana - fantastic! I'd forgotten it was him under all that makeup.
Chris Pine? Not bad. I know some people have commented on his age, but if you look at Shatner when he first did Star Trek he didn't look that much older (a difference of about six years, according to IMDB).
Loved Zoe Saldana, but would have preferred she continue to kick ass instead of some of the other things she did later in the film. And the Sulu character was very well done.
I really liked how the plotline worked. I was prepared to get annoyed with major changes in the basic story but Abrams and his writers did it in such a way as to make a believer out of me.

Thank you. I knew I'd seen him somewhere, and it was driving me nuts. (And, using IMBD requires that I remember wanting to know this bit of information during the times I'm near a computer. Which was not happening, because I am old and forgetful.)

Another It's That Guy moment: Clifton Collins Jr.[/color] as Romulan Ayel. All the makeup threw me off! He sounds really laid-back and cool. Good for him.

Well, his first two movies of the summer have been my two favorites (Sunshine Cleaning and this). Talk about versatility!

This movie is crack. I want to see it again. I know - I'm totally tempted to see it again this weekend. I ran across this interview with Quinto and thought this bit about when he first met Nimoy was funny: Leonard Nimoy is awesome.

I've seen it twice, once on a regular screen and then I had to see it in IMAX. I was just as into the second time.
Also, Chris Pine has acne scarring. Even Chris Pine's acne scarring is hot;
